Placements and Internships

1.5

The internships and placements I received were not compelling enough. I ended up applying by myself, on merit. However, the internal placement team was very helpful.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

1.5

The management courses are conducted in one building. The campus is small and there is no parking facility. The women's hostel shares a wall with the management building. There is NO canteen or food facilities in any of the institutes under Modern College.
The classrooms and hallways are never clean. Students are not disciplined. However, there are derivative rules like male and female students to not talk in the main building and no waiting in the campus after hours with friends even if you need to discuss projects and presentations. Pretty obsolete.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

Eligibility: There is an entrance exam known as the CET that is conducted every year to qualify for the bachelors' programs. However, if your profile is compelling in terms of grades and references, you are still eligible to apply.

Course: BBA is quite an all-encompassing course. You are introduced to a variety of new subjects and based on the college you get an opportunity to deepen your knowledge on one subject in your final year. Modern College provides three major subjects, viz. HR, Finance and Marketing.

Institute: I did not find the institute to be spectacular. There were a lot of discrepancies in the management. English was not the first language and the students were not disciplined regardless of the havoc they created in and outside the class. It is difficult to be a sincere student when the management itself takes the course lightly.

Academics and Faculty

4

Faculty: I had an amazing experience with faculty. There are a few wonderful teachers in the staff who readily help you during and outside their office hours. The faculty has tremendously helped me when I needed reference letters from a few teachers to apply for a masters' program. During the course, there were a few teachers who truly acknowledged and appreciated your input. The one thing I loved about the course were the teachers (from 2015 to 2018).

Fees and Scholarships

2.5

Modern College of Arts Science and Commerce, [MCASC] Pune fee structure. The course fee was approximately Rs. 30000/- per term, but I am not certain. The fee structure is different for national and international students.

Overall, this course did enhance my knowledge to a certain limit. When I compared myself to my friends from different universities, I realized how much I needed to work outside the course to be up to date. The college has no facilities for using laptops. The library is not helpful at any point. They do not teach you anything about new technologies and latest tools.

They do not facilitate activities that can challenge you and develop your skills. The field trips have no leverage. After my first year itself, I started dreading attending college. They do not take anything about your education or your career seriously. After having this experience, I knew how important it was to get into a good institute for my masters.
