Maria Prakkat's Review on IHM Mumbai - Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition

There is a compulsory internship for 4 months in the second year, which can be done anywhere. The hotel should be a 5-star hotel; the front office, food & beverage service, housekeeping, and kitchen areas are given more importance during the internship. IHM conducts internship placements in the institute itself. Students who wish to do it outside Mumbai can do so.

There are three hostels-one general hostels for boys, one general hostel for girls, and an NRI hostel for girls. Students with high AIR rank can get into the NRI hostel. The NRI hostel is air-conditioned and has good facilities and is around INR 2 Lakh per annum. The classrooms are all good. The quality of education is superior.

In order to get admission into IHMs, I had to clear the AIR examination. A rank above 1000 (general category) will get you in IHM Mumbai by final round or spot allotment.

The classes start at 9:30 am, and there are both practical and theory classes every day. I really loved my college, and the faculty includes some of the pioneers in the hotel industry, and they are very well trained.

Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, [IHMCTAN] Mumbai Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 1 Lakh per annum.

There are various clubs such as literary, cultural, photography, kitchen, etc. for students to join. The college also holds various tests, and students are very active in all. The college promotes extracurricular activities such as sports as well.
