Placements and Internships

2.5

Deloitte is a company that offers placement to Economics graduates. However, most placement opportunities are focused around the B.Com graduates.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

The college provides hostel accommodation to students, but seats are limited, and hence, preference is given to NRI's and international students. Payments for the same is on an annual basis; mess food is included.

PG accommodations near the college are abundant owing to the presence of several colleges in the vicinity. This part of the city is very safe and teeming with college students. PGs are available for a monthly rent of INR 5.5k to 12k per month. There are also several options for living in flats.
The college canteen is reasonable, and the food is quite good. Classrooms are not the biggest but seem to accommodate the average attendance on any given day.

The Library is small but has a good collection of books and reference books. There is a reading hall, which is a great place to grab some peaceful study hours. The teachers often take initiatives to conduct field trips outside of college. The Vishwabhavan is the college auditorium, where important events are conducted. The college pathway is also often used to set up the stage during college events; in short, it's all very hip and cool.

The campus is shared by four Symbiosis institutions, SCAC being the most populous of them all. However, schedules are arranged in such a manner that the humble campus never seems or feels congested.

The bustling energy and life is only great to experience and is also very comforting for a fresher.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

Admission is on a merit basis; there is no entrance examination system. The cut-off is usually around 94% for both B.Com and BA, but the college usually has multiple admission lists, so one can expect to get admission with 80% or more.

The admission to the second year is a rather tricky process, especially for BA. It is conducted online. However, to get the specialization subject and electives of your choice, you need to secure enough marks for subjects including specialization are allotted on a preference basis with just 50-60 seats per subject.

Academics and Faculty

4

Endless possibilities for those willing to take the initiative and be on the move.

Learning can happen anywhere, anytime, and from anyone. I was not the happiest with the curriculum initially, but the best thing about SCAC is that learning happens in very organic, effortless ways that you won't even realize. It definitely helps you widen your horizons and explore.

The college offers B.Com and B.A course with the option of an Honours degree. The assessment system is as follows, 60 marks for an external written exam, 20 marks for an assignment, and 20 marks online MCQ exam conducted in college premises.

College timings are from 7.30 am to 11 pm. The faculty is highly experienced and has been there for years now. They are accommodating, helpful, and motivating of any initiatives that the students may suggest.
