Placements and Internships

5

Though I haven't done any internship yet, various companies visit my campus and they hire lots of students from various departments, and the university has the record of highest placements.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are 6 girls hostel (two blocks Tagore, Sukhna, Shiwalik). The hostels are well ventilated and properly cleaned. The hostel fee is 7000 per month. The food is delicious and there is a lot of variety. Quality of classrooms, labs, libraries, dining halls, wifi is all up to expectations.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The admission forms are available online as well as offline. After the forms are filled, student is asked to come for counselling and I must say that the way the teachers (counsellors) deal is commendable. They answer each and every query of the students and the students may get demos of classroom and hostel in case they wish to. There was no entrance test for my course but advantages like 50% concessions (in academic fee) are given to students getting above 90%. If the student manages to maintain 9 above CGPA, the scholarship criteria hold.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

The class starts at 9:30 am sharp. The attendance for the lecture is taken in the first 5 minutes. After the completion of the first unit,mid-semester tests ( mss) are taken which are of 36 marks. Then after the completion of the 2nd unit, 2 MSTs are held. At the end of 3 units, final semester exams are held which are of 60 marks. Students need to submit three assignments for each unit. Teachers have great knowledge of their respective subjects and also give career advice as well. The presentations are prepared for a better understanding of students. The overall experience in college is superb.

Fees and Scholarships

4.5

Chandigarh University, [CU] Chandigarh Fee Structure. The fee for my course is Rs 60,000 per year.

The students are provided with scholarships as concessions in fees on the basis of their CGPA's. The students getting above 9 CGPA are given a 50% concession. All students scoring a good CGPA are given scholarships regardless.

Clubs and Associations

5

There are a lot of societies, clubs, and associations for each and every subject. One such is the Shunayant Club for Mathematics and many more. All festivities are equally important. Life in college is satisfactory. It is a ragging free campus.

The admissions are based on either 12th grade merit or JEE-MAIN results. Starting from the year 2020 the admissions are also dependent on the entrance exam conducted by Chandigarh University ie the CUCET. The exam is solely based on the 11th and 12th grade syllabus.
