Placements and Internships

3.5

There are various companies that approach the institute which has an active training and placement cell to get the best opportunities for students. The average salary figures are 4.5LPA while the highest salary package ranges to 7LPA. The institute also has an active alumni association. Having completed 60 years, various alumni groups who have established their own industries by now, have been recruiting interns and full-time employees from the college.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

The institute has two separate hostels each for girls and boys within the campus area. It charges a very nominal hostel fee. Food is provided in the hostel mess itself or could be preferred in the college canteen. The food charges are pretty reasonable and can be afforded by anyone. As the institute is located in the prime city area, students can as well opt for PGs or rent their own flat. Speaking about the infrastructure, the institute has a 24/7 WiFi facility and is up-to-date with the latest classroom tools for e-learning. It has well-equipped laboratories and a library operational within the campus itself. The library offers access to various online services to access research material.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

I appeared for the MHCET, which is a competitive examination in Maharashtra to be eligible to apply for applying to various technical universities. After scoring a decent score(130-150)/200 for open category, I got admission in the stream. Being a premium institute in the region, the typical cutoff is usually between 140-145 for computer science streams and maybe even higher for mechanical and civil domains.

Academics and Faculty

4

The working hours of the institute are from 10:30 am-5:30 pm with classes and lectures of 1 hour each. The institute is well equipped with the latest technologies and systems for e-learning. The staff is very friendly and helps students choose the best projects for themselves. Exams are held on a semester basis. GCE Aurangabad is an autonomous institute, thereby it has the freedom to build its own curriculum and hold exams independently. It has a separate examination cell that looks after the exams, paper checking, and result declaration.

Fees and Scholarships

4.5

As it is a government institute, the course fee differs based on castes students belong to. As of 2019, the course fee for students of open backgrounds ranged between 80,000-82,000. It considerably reduces for students belonging to the OBC, SC, and ST categories. If applicable, students do get scholarships based on their academic excellence as well as on the socio-economic status.

Clubs and Associations

4

The college has various clubs and associations for students to participate in. Students can join the acting club and participate in inter-state cultural competitions. It has a gymkhana for athletes and encourages students to participate in various sports including basketball, football, badminton, cricket, etc. The institute hosts a national level technical fest each year which attracts students from different states to participate in. It also hosts a 3-day cultural festival for students of the institute to encourage activities in the extra-curricular development of the students. The institute has an active group of enthusiasts working towards developing satellites, helping the underprivileged and helping in the overall development of the society
