M's Review on Chennai Institute of Technology

The college has tie-ups with various big industries, they arrange internships very often and also motivate the students to attend them. The students are hired into big companies, starting from their third year. The placement training are given right from the first year and students are provided with the kind of knowledge the companies expects from the students. CIT has an excellent record for placements, almost everyone one will get placed in a good company if you clear all your semester exams without any backlogs.

There are two hostels present, one for boys and one for girls. There is 24 hrs free wifi and laundry service available in the hostel. All the students will be monitored by the wardens. The food served in the hostel mess in very good and special food for students from the other states are available. The fee for the mess comes combined with the hostel fee, which is very affordable. Laboratories and libraries in CIT are top notch, with all the equipments and books made available to students.

Good marks and good cut off are more than enough to secure a seat in this highly proclaimed college. The higher your cutoff, the higher are the chances of you getting full scholarship! CIT has a special scholarship program where the scholarship are awarded for the students based on their cutoff and also for the underprivileged students based on certain criteria.

The regular classes starts at 8AM and ends at 2:45PM. The day is divided into 8 periods and each period is of 45 minutes. Professors use smart class to teach, as they make the learning easier and fun. Tests are conducted regularly and the progress of each student is monitored individually. Each day, apart from the theory classes, students are involved in other activities such as projects, e-learning, hackathon, etc. There is an INNOVATIVE LEARNING PROGRAM at CIT, where students are allowed to explore various other subjects of their interest, other than the academics, to get an insight of what the current industry looks like. Regularly, speakers from various aspects of the industries are brought in to fill in the students with some industrial exposure.

The fees for this institution is very affordable. There are several scholarship programs available. Every year, almost 70 percentage of the students avail these scholarships.

There various clubs and associations present in CIT. The main cultural event of CIT is takshashila, which is conducted at Feb/March of every year. Various celebrities are invited to entertain the students. Other than takshashila, symposium is conducted every year, where the students from other colleges come to exhibit their technical talents. The life in CIT is so good, once you enter the campus, it'll be very difficult for you to leave!
