Recently, I have been offered an Internship letter to be an intern under Disney (USA). Since then our UITHM department at Chandigarh University has been dedicatedly providing us a rigorous training process under which me along with other students who have been offered this impressive Internship are being prepared for our professional conduct at the Walt Industry.

At Chandigarh University, the UITHM department has excellent infrastructure with well-equipped classrooms designed to accommodate and allow maximum possible interaction between teachers and students. All modern teaching aids and computer laboratories are extensively used. Facilities of a well-equipped library are valuable assets at Chandigarh University. Modern cafeterias and student hostels are other facilities that are available to students.

Library:

Leading Airlines, Airport, Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality magazines, journals, and books are available to cater to the student’s professional needs and can be accessed at the well-equipped library.

Information Technology Lab:

UITHM has its computer lab facility for students to update and enhance their Aviation related knowledge. These labs are equipped with all Airline related software to provide hands-on training to our students.

Residential Hostels:

The University provides residential facilities separately for boys and girl students. Priority is given to students from outstations.

Sports and Extracurricular Activities:

The University boasts of the Cricket Ground, Basketball, Tennis, Volleyball and Badminton Courts, as well as Horse Riding facilities. Facilities for Billiards and Table Tennis are also available at the students’ hostels.

To provide an opportunity for bright young minds to study in the most challenging and diverse academic environment, Chandigarh University conducts a mandatory Entrance Test commonly known as CUCET for admission to B.Sc. in Airlines and Airport Management.

Such Common Entrance Test, CUCET is aimed at rewarding the brilliance and potential of young aspirants to win scholarships and study in futuristic courses in Airlines and Airport management.

Eligibility Criterion:

Any student  who have scored 50% or more marks in their secondary Education (10+2) or student appearing for secondary education (10+2) from a recognized Board (CBSE/PSEB/ICSE or any other recognized State/National Board) eligible to enroll with B.Sc. in the Airlines and Airport Management course

 The B.Sc. course curriculum in Aviation and Airline Management benchmarks global education with a system that matches the best of practices, theories, resources and standards all over the world. This includes:

Dynamic Semester-Based Courseware:

The B.Sc. Course curriculum of one year is taught into two semester i.e.,17-18 weeks each. Semester system promotes greater interaction between faculty members and students and also permits more meaningful term paper and research assignments

The semester fee at Chandigarh University, [CU] Chandigarh for the program at B.Sc. Airlines & Airport Management is Rs. 35000/- INR.

Scholarship Schemes:

The University has been known to provide a maximum number of Scholarship schemes to students as below:

• Scholarship Scheme Based on 12th Exam marks for students securing 90-94.99%- Maximum 10% of total intake seats in each Course shall be offered under the scheme
• Scholarship for Students Who Have Participated In National Children's Science Congress
• CGPA Based Scholarship, to name a few.

Thus I would like to say by adding that the University, besides being a pioneer of quality education has been simultaneously proactive in uplifting the education standard and qualification of students of the nation and enthusiastic to encourage and motivate bright students by providing additional benefits and facilities to shining stars and super achievers.

The airline department has built-in various clubs like the “UDAAN Club” that have been engaging the students with various activities that help them develop skills required to be a Cabin Crew. Such activity conducted by the club round the semester inculcates in our hospitality professionals with Customer service skills, Compassionate Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Public Speaking Skills, grooming Skills, Negotiation Skills, to name a few thereby contributing to the needs of current Aviation Market.
