Anushka Banerjee's Review on Chandigarh University, [CU] Chandigarh

Chandigarh University is best known for the highest number of campus placements & it has been awarded the honor of a NAAC A+ grade university which provides even more exposure to the students.

Since I have taken up engineering, I'll mostly jot down the specifics of engineering placements as best as I know:

• 240 Multi-nationals selected 3750 engineers during 2018-19
• Companies offering INR 5 LPA and more salary package are 100+ with 650+ selection and the companies offering 10 LPA and more salary package are 25+ with 100+ selections
• Top Fortune 500 companies select engineering students in Campus Placements like Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, IBM, SAP Labs, Bank of America, etc.
• 118 Core Engineering Companies select approximately 1097 students from varied engineering branches.

The Alumni network is also highly established in esteemed MNCs and other well known native industries with high salary packages like INR 30.47 LPA.

• There are 4 campus hostels, 2 for boys and 2 for girls and there's one other hostel which is off-campus.
• Hostels are well equipped with gym and hostel mess/food court. Each hostel has room and washroom cleaning staff & rooms are well kept. There are Kirana stores inside every hostel which has all the essentials you'd need.
• There are additional food courts inside the hostels.
• There is plenty of PGs available for you adjacent & nearby to the University.
• The University campus is huge

Quality of Classrooms:

• Classrooms are very airy and well equipped with a projector and starboard.
• There are a podium and a small stage where the teachers deliver his/her lecture.
• Computer labs and auditoriums are full central AC.
• The campus is WiFi enabled anyone can access it.
• We have one Central Library and Departmental libraries in every administrative block.

Since I took up B.Tech, eligibility criteria for admission was to qualify in the JEE-main examination with rank within 2000.

Admission Procedure for any Course:

• You can apply for the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) which provides up to 100% scholarships to hardworking and sincere students.
• You can even avail of scholarships.

• Class timings range from 9:30 am to 4:20 pm.
• Two MSTs (Mid Semester Test) and one final exam occur every semester. MST is of 36 marks and the Final exam is of 60 marks.
• Assignments are compulsory are assigned before each MST. Each assignment has a deadline within which to submit & it is also informed prior of whether to submit a soft copy or a hard copy of it.

Quality & Method of Teaching:

• Teaching system is elaborate, detailed & advanced.
• Each and every professor here are PhD holders from IIT or other esteemed institutions & are extremely well versed in the subjects they're supposed to teach.
• Lectures are delivered with the help of projectors which showcase presentations related to the subject.
• Laboratories are well equipped with necessary instruments & machines.
• International Nobel laureates are also invited to deliver lectures.

Chandigarh University, [CU] Chandigarh Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 1.60 Lakh per annum.

Scholarship Options:

• You can apply for the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) which provides up to 100% scholarships to hardworking and sincere students.
• You can even avail scholarships ranging from 50% to 100% scholarship if you show potential and are talented in extracurricular activities like sports, dance, singing, arts, etc.
• I have received a 50% scholarship for my singing abilities and because I have represented my University in Zee TV Saregamapa 2018 by becoming one of the Top-13 contestants in that reality show.

I'd like to write a little bit about how Chandigarh University assisted & supported me during my journey in Mumbai for Zee TV Saregamapa 2018.

• Besides pursuing engineering, I'm also an aspiring playback singer & I was one among the top-13 contestants of Zee TV Saregamapa back in 2018 when I was just a fresher in CU. I received support from CU during my tenure in Zee tv which assisted me in balancing both my academics and non-academics.

We have a Department of Student Welfare DSW in CU which looks into all the extracurricular affairs of the university & is mainly responsible for the facilitation of such activities.

Pratibha Talent Hunt show, a competition to present your vocal and dancing abilities and Tech Invent are the main events of the university.
