Placements and Internships

4.5

As long as students work for it, there is a high probability for them to get placed. Students are provided training for placements starting from the first year and special training on aptitude and coding is provided to the final year students in the start of the academic year. Also, company specific training is provided to the final year students. A lot of opportunities are provided through amcat and cocubes tests conducted within the college and students can apply online for the job descriptions sent to their mails. Students can be confident that they'll get placed as long as they work for it.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

There are separate hostel buildings for both boys and girls. But, I'm not sure about the fee.

Every classroom is equipped with a projector through which teaching faculty present subject material in slides or play a video relating to the subject.

The library has books for all subjects but students are allowed to borrow only two books at a time. There is also a department library from which students can borrow books for an entire semester with a signature from the HoD. This is also restricted to two books.

The labs are well euipped with all components reuired for engineering education.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

Admissions are the same as any other colleges affiliated to Anna University for students coming through government quota. For management quota, face to face interview is conducted for the students and they are selected based on their cut-off and performance.

Academics and Faculty

4

The college timings are from 8 am to 4 pm. Two continuous assessment tests and one model examination are conducted and these determine your internal marks. Apart from these, assignments and class tests are also taken into account for internals. Internal marks are not given, you need to earn them. Thats what they say.

The faculty are really friendly and dont mind lending a helping hand in improving your academic performance. But, always remember that you are a student and they are your faculty. So, never get too close to anyone unless you want to make enemies of your classmates and make your four years of college life boring and dull.

Fees and Scholarships

4.5

Rs.40000 is the course fee per year at Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology, [LICET] Chennai for Government quota. I'm not sure about management quota fees. But, a fixed amount of Rs.50000 is collected from all students in the name of industrial visits, maintaining sports equipment, etc.

No donation is collected unlike other colleges. Scholarships are provided for students coming from economically weak background.

Clubs and Associations

5

LICET has eco club, rotract club, etc. There's also the Entrepreneur Development (ED) cell, Innovation cell, Women cell which function quite well. All these clubs and cells require you to stay back after college hours. This might sound difficult for first year students but it is so much fun and you get to realize who you really are and bring out your talents through these clubs. These will be good memories for you to look back at when you leave the college.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Your 12th standard marks is the only factor that determines admission at LICET. You can enter either through management or through Anna university counselling. There is no entrance examination here, at least right now. The average cut off marks admitted here in LICET (2016-2017) was around 183.
