Placements and Internships

  • In the course, I had to attend a one-month internship which was a part of the curriculum and the stipend was not included.
  • ETV Bharat and Qua Qua.
  • Every year 80% of the students get placed.
  • The Alumni network is strong and they provide help whenever the need arises. 

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

  • There are 7 men's hostel and 8 women's hostel in the University, facilities like running water, bed, table and chair, food, washing machine, and security is provided, and the monthly fee is Rs 1600.
  • As it is a residential University, there is no PGs outside the University.
  • Food in the hostels is average and taste varies each day and the mess fee is included in the hostel fee. There are food eateries inside the campus where you can treat yourself with snacks.
  • The classrooms are big and equipped with projectors, labs are also equipped with the required instruments, the library has books related to all courses and one can also study in peace there, and the University has one Wi-Fi connection that is strong. 

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The eligibility criteria and admission procedure for Master in Arts (MA) in Mass Communication and Journalism is you need to sit for an entrance examination.
  • The entrance examination which I took was TUEE, an offline/online entrance examination.
  • The cutoff for M A in Mass Communication and Journalism is 50% in graduation.

Academics and Faculty

  • The daily routine was student-friendly and classes started from 9:00 am, there were weekly assignments and presentations on several topics related to the course, and there were 4 examinations in each semester that include 2 sessionals, 1 mid-term and 1 end-term.
  • The method of teaching was good and interactive sessions were held on a regular basis that made the course quite easier to understand.
  • The overall experience is good as there are workshops held where you learn new things from experts.

Fees and Scholarships

  • The course fee for the first year is Rs 54,920 and in the second year, it is Rs 39,120.
  • There were no scholarships in our course.

Clubs and Associations

  • In Tezpur University, there is a dance club, drama club, singing club, quiz society, sports club, and a music club.
  • There are two major festivals on the campus that are, TechXetra which is a National Level Annual Techno-Cultural Festival, Insignis, a science festival with exciting events like treasure hunting, quizzes, and many more.
  • The life on campus is one of a kind. Here your friends are your family as you will be staying away from home and you can spend the evenings on the campus by playing in the field, strolling around the campus amidst the greenery and admire the natural beauty surrounding the campus.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Tezpur University is one of the best small Universities in India. NAAC has awarded it an A+. Tezpur University conducts its own entrance exam called TUEE. TU has different eligibility criteria for different subjects. All candidates are requested to review the prospectus for information regarding the same thoroughly. In TU the cut-off for MA in Linguistics is 46% for unreserved candidates. The cutoff is different for students with quotas.
