Having excelled in academics and other departments for the past 2 decades, SKCET is also known for its placements. Top brass companies like Amazon, Wipro, TCS, Robert Bosch, etc have come down to the campus to recruit students from various fields of engineering. However, for the core departments like Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechatronics engineering, the companies visiting the campus are pretty less compared to that of IT / Product sector companies. The placement percentages are very good for non-core departments such as ECE, CSE and IT and the overall placement percentiles are also in par with top private universities around the region. The top recruiter has been Accenture with a minimum package of 4 LPA for the past few years. However, Amazon has recruited students for a package of up to 28 LPA.

College is legitimate in providing you internships during the course of study. In fact, the college will appreciate your efforts of securing an internship on your own by awarding you attendance while you're out. However, the college does expect you to academically balance your life so that your results don't dip during the internship period. 

Set at the backdrop of mountains and serenity, SKCET has the best infrastructure in the whole Coimbatore belt. The college has an alluring architecture benchmarked by many top universities across the globe. It is indeed a treat for the students as the climate around the region is always pleasant. The college management aims at providing maximum support to the students in the form of their colossal infrastructure. Over 40+ labs and 100+ classrooms, SKCET's infrastructure are one to be admired on. SKCET has a central library housing over 100000+ collections and over 5000+ journals and papers. The library also consists of a digital library section where students can access the internet for surfing. The whole campus is WiFi-enabled and can be easily accessed by staff and students.

SKCET has air-conditioned 2 auditoriums, one for mass gathering and the other for conferences and placement drives. Both auditoriums can house up to 2500+ students at a time. It also has a vast amount of food outlets inside the campus varying from quick grabbers to even full-course lunch. The quality of food provided by the outlets is simply unquestionable and is simply top-notch.

The quality of food provided inside the hostel mess are however not at par with the outside food in recent years but the management is looking seriously into bringing in change. There are around 9 Hostel blocks, 5 for men and 4 for women. The distance between the Men's residence and the Women's residence sums up to at least 1.5 miles, which proves the college does provide a safe and secure environment for the female students and staff. The room maintenance for Men's block is not up to the mark but not the same case with women's block.
Each and every classroom is digitalized, which aims at enhancing the learning process. Teachers mostly use the digital platform rather than a manual platform for better understanding purposes. Students are maximum benefitted with these technological aids. Over 15+ computer labs housing up to 120+ systems, 10+ lathe machines, 20+ special machines, and much more practical equipment, SKCET does have the second-best lab facilities around the region.

SKCET also provides innovation labs for students who are interested in taking part in competitions such as SAE BAJA, SUPRA, Robocon, Solar kart, etc. These labs are equipped with basic tools and machines so that the student fraternity can complete their projects well within the college environment.

Getting into SKCET is just moreover a straight forward process ie via TNEA. TNEA Counselling is an annual engineering college counselling session happening at various Anna universities around Tamil Nadu. Students are required to have a good cut-off mark to get admission to their desired university. The TNEA cutoff is calculated by using the formula C= Maths + ((Physics+Chemistry)/2). Using this formula, the ranks are allotted based on the highest cutoff percentile and are called for counselling. SKCET is one of the most top-rated colleges under TNEA and it does require a cut-off over 190 to secure admission in this college. However, there are also cut-offs for various caste-based quotas for which you can refer to the TNEA website or even the college website. As of the latest trends, securing a seat in B.E. Mechatronics Engineering requires a cut-off of 190 under the general category.

Life at SKCET is a mix of extensive learning and enrichment of your skills. In Academics point of view, SKCET recruits only staffs who have a greater depth of knowledge on the subject and patience in handling students. All the staffs in the college are very experienced and are indeed student-friendly. There are around 15+ doctorates teachers in the college, who has vast knowledge on the subject. The quality of teaching depends upon the origin of the student. It is really good for home state students since the teachers prefer to use their mother tongue to explain the concept in depth. However, the speaking proficiency of certain staffs is below par which will affect the other state students who are not well versed in Tamil. The standard of teaching and curriculum is set by many top brass universities which are at par with the current trends and demands required in the field.

In the recent academic update, apart from trimming down the number of subjects, many new subjects are added upon based on the demand in the industry. The introduction of new labs has indeed boosted the speed of learning for many students in the college. The college has its 3D printing machines, a readymade kart and much more to enhance practical learning rather than only focussing on theoretical learning. The college doesn't suppress your learning interest. In fact, it helps you by providing financial helps for extra courses you're willing to undertake. The college supports platforms like NPTEL, Coursera, EDX etc to enhance students knowledge apart from what they learn inside the campus. Monthly industrial visits are scheduled for core departments to imbibe practical knowledge along with theory.

The fee structure in SKCET is under the NAAC regulations and TNEA regulations. Since SKCET is an autonomous institution, they aren't a state-funded college. The fee structure for a student getting admission via TNEA is around Rs.1,20,000 per annum excluding transportation fees and hostel fees. Hostel fee starts from Rs.90,000 in the first year of study and decreases as the years' progress. The transportation fee for day scholars start from Rs.20,000 per annum and increases as per the area their residence comes under.
SKCET provides numerous scholarships under the state and central government regulations. Annual scholarships are provided to backward caste students based on their parent's income certificate. Also, scholarships are provided for students joining via sports quota. Most of the students who fall under the backward caste and low-income category are awarded a scholarship in annual college fees. None of the applications are rejected if the data provided are accurate and matching the norms provided by the central government.

What's college life without cultural activities and off academic activities? SKCET consists of several clubs aiming to bring the best out of students apart from academics. It aims at showcasing your hidden talent within the whole college fraternity. Using these club activities, students are also encouraged in participating in other college fests and even national fests. SKCET has its very own annual inter-college fest called Dhwani which is a great platform for students to showcase their talents.

With a fierce and untameable bunch of sportsmen, SKCET has excelled in all sports played around the state and the country. The college is known for its unconquerable cricket and basketball teams, who have brought in several laurels for the college over the years. The college football team is also making astonishing benchmarks along with the athletics team. The college infrastructure provides an immense amount of space and importance to every sport equally. There is no partiality when it comes to SKCET and sports. The amount of facility provided by the college makes them simply untamable in every competition they go for.
SKCET also supports vehicle fabrication clubs and business/entrepreneurship clubs. There are around 10+ vehicle fabrication teams participating in various events ranging from off-roading to electric vehicle championships. SKCET has the best BAJA team around the belt with an impressive track record over the years. The Electric Vehicle teams are also piling up the accolades annually. Opportunity is provided for all irrespective of their academic background because academics don't justify the students.
The college life is very much liberal unlike many colleges in the Coimbatore region. Nobody's going to be following you throughout and impose strict rules and act on you. It's an environment structured for the students to socialize and excel in their path of interest. It enriches student-student interactions irrespective of their gender.
