Ashwini Reddy's Review on Jyoti Nivas College

I completed my internship from Thomas Cook Banglore, as was pursuing Travel and Tourism Management though one can go complete there internship from hotels or government tourism offices as well. But it has to be service industry related.

Companies like IT, Non-IT, BPO, KPO, Banks, hospitality sections have visited colleges. Goldman Sachs, J.P Morgan, MindTree, Wipro, SAP-labs, Cognizant, Infosys, Accenture, IBM, Reuters, Honey wells, Earnest + Young and the roles taken by people are also promising for eg;- Public Relation Officier, Marketing, Tax Analyst, Developers, etc.. 

Note- The students pursuing placement course are eligible to sit for placements.

Average salary is based on which company hires you and it diversifies with how a student performs in the interview.

Still, the highest salary figure for last year was 4.25L/annum.

About the alumni meet, it happens in July every year and it's pretty good.

There is one hostel inside the campus and it can accommodate around 200 and above (approx), students. Hostel fee is around 72k per year (approx) which can be paid in 2 installments. and college has few contracts with PGs around the college as well. About the food, they serve both veg and no veg.

Food is good as per taste and quality also and its affordable. 

Well, there are wifi routers but no wifi available for students. The classrooms are digitalized and infrastructure is developing. The library is filled with pretty good books but has to be upgraded. And the college has an inbuilt Supermarket.

The eligibility criteria for my course was simple.

A student has to be graduated with 50% above in any stream in the 12th boards.

There is no entrance exam required for this course, you can apply online for admission through the college website and submit a migration certificate later.

There is no cut off regularised for this course.

The daily routine is fine, they offer different courses like banking and finance which was recently started and they provide a lot of vocational courses as well. Moving forward to college timings, it starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. So, every semester there are 3 examinations which are  CIA's with mindsem and assignments and endsem examination.

Quality and method of teaching are fine and there are few teachers or departments which are easily approachable and ready to help the student all the time.

college is fun but theres a lot to learn here. As it's a women's college there agenda is to empower women to give freedom so that she can perform and they will let your light shine.

The course fee was different for each year with a difference of 5% increase. and it varies with the student as they have a lot of scholarship schemes available.

There are scholarships provided to backward classes and reserved and Christians. There is a scholarship given for those whose academic performance is above 80% throughout the year and they also provide loan facilities for those who are not able to pay the entire fee at the time. Students are granted permission to pay the fees in 2-semester installments.

There is no specific number as such for getting the scholarship, you apply for it, if you are eligible they ll call you.

There are various clubs like adventure, Rotaract, AICUF, NCC, NSS, Women's Cell, etc.

Sports have a different vibe altogether in college, sports facilities are good but encouragement is a little less as they give more preference to academics.

There are two main festivals in college -Scintillation which is a cultural fest and spyghmus which is for sports and then for different departments hosts various fests as well, to name some -Gran Torino for Tourism department, Mediation by English Department and Enthios by Computer Science Department, etc..

It's amazing, as a sportsperson you struggle a little with teachers as you might miss classes sometimes but the college has a positive vibe that gives you refreshing energy and confidence to lead your life.
