Placements and Internships

2.5

  • It is not mandatory to do an internship during the course period.
  • Plant protectant manufacturers (e.g. pesticides, fungicides and biofertilizer) have shown more interest in hiring freshers as the field requires fresh and innovative ideas for their products.
  • Only 10% of students got placed, but they're likely to get an average salary of around INR 1.5 lakhs/annum. Though it seems small at the beginning, they will get more based on their performance.
  • Any kind of clubs or association for Alumni is not initiated.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

2.5

  • There are separate hostels for boys, girls and staff. Students will be charged for food and accommodation facilities provided by the college management. The total fee will be around INR 1 lakh per year.
  • Since the college is located in a remote area, there is no PGs/hostels available outside the campus.
  • The cost will be not charged for every meal. Students should pay the total fee for the period of one year.
  • Classrooms and laboratories are pretty good and the facilities are at their best. Wi-Fi is not available but there will be access to the computer lab to all the students in working hours during all working days.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • Students who've completed their Higher Secondary with a minimum pass percentage are eligible to join the course. However, they will be selected only through counselling held by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University to which the college is affiliated.
  • There will be NO ENTRANCE EXAM for the course.
  • Students who've scored more than 180 as cutoff will get higher possibilities for getting admission.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

  • Classes will be held in both labs and classrooms. Students will be expected to be on time for every class and they need to have 85% of attendance at the end of each semester in all the courses. Otherwise, they will have to appear for the same subject in the next sem. It is also important that students should be working in the fields in the reported time and their marks will be influenced by the practical works done in fields and laboratories.
  • Professors will be teaching using boards as well as the projectors so, learning will not be a problem for an attentive student.
  • I've learnt a lot in the college in both theoretical and practical ways. The professors helped me a lot in understanding every nook and corner of the subject.

Fees and Scholarships

3

  • RVS Agriculture College fee for the course is INR 40000 per year but the additional charges included for accommodation and food will sum it up around INR 1 lakh per year.
  • If the student is the first graduate of his/her family, they need to pay only half of the educational fee. It'll not be considered in the case of food and accommodation.
  • 30 people out of 100 will be getting the First Graduate Scholarship.
  • Students can apply for a loan from all the banks easily. However, students need to maintain high scores in all the semesters to get a loan from any bank.

Clubs and Associations

3.5

  • There is a main club in the college in which the students will be given roles and responsibilities in their desired sub-clubs like art, music and sports.
  • All the regional festivals will be celebrated in a grand manner as well as the cultural and sports events.
  • In my view, it was a good period of my life where I invested four years in the building phase for my career.
