Internships are there, once applied for usual corporates like ABP, Hindustan Times and all the big media giants. For me, I did my internship at Ogilvy & Mather.
There are more than 5 hostels and PG's are all around the college. The college itself is in the most happening place in the city. The food and everything are 24x7 available. The other amenities like W-Fi, labs, dining rooms are also great. They are famous and legendary for their hangouts.
It has been an amazing experience to be a part of a historic institute. The Old Walls now have new systems and they are upgrading as time flies. You have an array of courses. Mass. Comm & Journalism, in particular, is interesting as they have one of the best faculty presents. We have been given each necessary tools required not only to complete the course but also which would, later on, help us to get through with professional life.
Class timings are usually from 9 in the morning to 3 or 4 in the evening for my course. The college also has 3 shifts for the whole day which starts at 5 and ends at 9. Projects are given once a year which has enough time to complete. Assignments change over time. The method and quality of teaching are old but they are modernizing with time. The overall experience is awesome.
The fees in my time were around Rs. 40,000 a year now it must have increased. No specific loans of the bank are needed but if necessary banks easily provide seeing the college background. Scholarships are available from time to time but no such fixed scholarships are there for my course.
Student societies are the political societies which are present heavily in the socio-norm culture of the college. The main festivals are the local Bengali festivals, Life in college is generally cool it is a homely experience a city of joy makes it cozier.
