• Alcohol is strictly prohibited inside the campus but it is easily accessible near the campus. 

• Various student clubs and councils are managed by students which organize many extracurricular and academic activities throughout the year.
• These clubs are the bodies under the control of Student Gymkhana.
• There is an annual techno-cultural festival, Anwesha.
• Nebula, the annual fresher party, is a tradition at IIT Patna.
• One can enjoy every aspect of an ideal hostel life at IIT Patna.

• On-campus hostel facilities are provided for students but PG and other options are available at an affordable cost near to campus.
• The quality of food is not so good on campus but outside restaurants provide really good and tasty food. 

For the batch of 2018 the average package was around INR 14 lakh per annum in which the highest package was of INR 40 lakhs per anum in the computer science branch while for the mechanical and electrical the average package was about INR 12 lakhs per annum and for civil and chemical engineering the average package was around INR 8 lakhs per annum.

Course fee for B tech programme is around INR 1,25,000 per annum, while the students are provided the scholarship namely MCM whose family income is below INR 5 lakhs per annum and whose CPI is more than 6.5 can apply for the scholarship and 5 other financial support is also provided for the student belonging to SC and ST caste.

Normally for the given course, there are 3 lectures in a week from Monday to Friday and in the exam structure, there are two quizzes for a course and 1 mid sem exam and one end sem exam.
