Ayush Param's Review on Christ University, Bangalore

I did an internship over the summer of 2017, at a digital marketing company called Gaboli Online Services. The companies that hired from our campus hire for roles in virtually all domains. Around 10-25% of my batch got placed in the final year. I don't know enough about my college's alumni network to comment.

I don't know how many hostels there are; I assume there are at least two. I don't know about the quality of the hostels or the fees, as I have never stayed at the hostel, nor do I know anyone who has. The PGs are usually satisfactory, and cost between 8000 and 18000 a month, depending on quality. The food in college is excellent and costs around 40 INR per meal. The infrastructure, as mentioned before, is beyond excellent.

The eligibility criteria for my course was passing the 12th standard or 2nd PUC and gaining a minimum of 60% in the science subjects. We filled in an application form, and then we submitted it at the university along with documents for identity and address verification. I took no entrance examination. Typically, the cutoff for our course is around 90%.

Class starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM, assuming no special classes or compulsory certificate courses are taken. The quality of teaching varies from teacher to teacher, and is generally low, although there are a handful of excellent teachers. The method of teaching usually involves disseminating information, which the students are required to memorize and write down in assignments or examinations. The overall experience at Christ University was unsatisfactory; their main selling point is their infrastructure, which is beyond excellent.

The course fee was INR 60,000 INR per year. I don't know about the scholarship options, the number of students who get scholarships, or about loans.

There is the Student Council, which consists of student representatives of each class that at least handpicked by the management. There is also the Centre for Social Action, which is the wing of Christ University that deals with charitable work. There is Ethnic Day, which is a day where everyone comes dressed in the traditional clothes of their individual culture. There are a variety of religious festivals, and ceremonies honoring members and founders of the university. Life in college is generally eventful.
