College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
There are about 13 hostels( 2 girls and other boys ) including 1 hostels for Ph.D. students. The hostel is compulsory for students studying in the college and the hostel fee is included in the semester fees. Only an amount of INR 20000 is separately deposited for the mess. Labs are well equipped and updated and are better than many other universities. Classrooms are well maintained and equipped with hi-tech teaching aids.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
For all B.Tech programs- JEE Main is the entrance exam for admission process. The selection will be based on candidate’s AIR in the said examination. The admission of NRI/PIO/ SFFS candidates is based on marks obtained in Class 12/ equivalent qualifying examination.
Academics and Faculty
Class starts at 8 am and ends at 5 pm. A 2 hr gap is provided in between the classes interval Exams are decided by the examination department and the date sheet is announced on the college website.
Clubs and Associations
The biggest extravaganza is BITOTSAV, the annual cultural fest of BIT, Mesra. It involves a large number of fun events, competitions and power-packed nights with stars coming to the college and performing. Many events organized by respective clubs in the college. Some of them include DHWANI, the annual music fest; VAJRA, the annual sports fest; ROSTRA, the annual literary fest; DRAMZEST, the annual dramatics competition etc.

Academics & Faculty : For daily routine, Classes are taken regularly and quizzes/assignments a few in a semester at Birla Institute of Technology. There are very few elective courses, so not much choice. Most of the subjects are relevant. The quality and method of teaching are average. A few teachers are very good too. Most of the professors are ready to help students out of class.
