Vit's Review on KJ Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, [KJSIEIT] Mumbai

Placements in KJ somaiya commonly occurs each year, numerous companies recruit fresher's of geology like ONGC, ISRO, GSI, NIO, BARC and many other reputed companies but for that one has to give some exams associated with it and has to occupy some good ranks.

There is one hostel in the college near the management institute, But there are numerous canteens, in the canteens all the type of foods are available with normal price. Classroom quality is not so good but decent though, the library is fantastic and clean, Wi-Fis are available but we have to get the password which is available only for the registered user.

KJ somaiya College is a fantastic college for UG and PG, and also has a good teaching staff where every student gets personal attention ,I took geology since 11th standard as I want to try something new along with Physics ,Maths and Chemistry and languages ,After I completed my 12th I wanted to do further studies in Geology and I was lucky that I already did the course in 11th and 12th so I knew the basics of that. Geology is basically about Rocks, earth, the evolution of life etc. The college has a museum of geology where the number of various rocks, fossils are kept and is amazing.

The college starts at about 7:00 am in the morning, The practicals are the first thing it gets over until 9:30 am, and after that, the lecture starts and goes till about 2:00 Pm. As I said The teaching staff is really helpful and they pay attention to every student and can also contact them personally, Eklavya named batch is also there where students can register themselves for further coaching free of cost. Overall experience is marvellous.

For FYBsc(geology) the course fee is almost INR 20000. per year and there are many scholarships available here, for that one has to give certain examinations.

There are many fests conducted throughout the year, the Main fest is maker mela where scientists, inventors, creators from around the world come here and showcase their inventions, talents etc. Cultural events are common here ,Skream named sports fest is also conducted here which is very good for the people who likes sports.
