Placements and Internships
As I said earlier, Mechanical engineering is the best branch in SVNIT and almost 70-90% placements in my branch. Avg Salary lies in between INR 6 to 8 LPA. Major companies like LnT, Godrej, John Deere, Maruti Suzuki, Ongc, Ashok Leyland retrieve students. We have many alumni associations where alumni are helpful for future plans, competitive exams preparations and job plans.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
SVNIT has ten hostels with nine for boys and one for girls named after personalities of India. Each hostel is administrated by the Chief Hostel Warden. Each hostel elects representatives from the hostel residents for areas like Entertainment, Computer Facility, Network, Environment and Cultural. Two mega hostels for boys and one mega hostel for girls with large number of facilities have been constructed. Each hostel has its own mess, TV room, Sports room and computer facility. Coming to hostel fees, it costs about INR 33500 rupees for one year and mess fees are about INR 15000 for a semester.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
I'm pursuing mechanical engineering at SVNIT Surat. In Svnit, mechanical engineering is one of the best branches which has got 230 seats. One can get a seat in my college by clearing JEE mains. Usually, cutoffs vary every year, but the range for my course is up to AIR 11500 for general category.
Academics and Faculty
Usually, class timings depend on the particular semester courses. But the avg. Timings are 40-45 hrs weekly. And Saturday and Sunday are holidays. The professors are well experienced in their fields. And they will solve your doubts without hesitation. Overall, I can say one can enjoy your life in college and as well as have the great career also.

The cutoff's for the courses vary from year to year based on the choices filed by the students every year. Whereas the typical cutoff for a general category student to get into computer engineering at SVNIT is to obtain a rank of around 5000.
