Placements and Internships

3.5

Yes, I have done so many Internships in Civil Courts and High Courts including Patna & Calcutta High Court and all of them were non-stipend. Placements in our Faculty is not as good as in other NLUs because in our faculty the syllabus is UPSC and Judiciary based. More than half students are UPSC and PCS(J) aspirants. Corporate sectors aspirants are very low in number and even when companies come for placements purposes, the interested students' participation is also very low upon which our Faculty has started taking due concerns so that this difficulty would not arise in coming sessions. Alumni Network of our faculty is very rich. Below are the few names of our rich Alumni Network

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are two main hostels for law students, one for girls and another for boys and we charged only 1200/- rupes per month including food, lodging, dhobi and wi-fi charges. There are a number of PGs/other options outside college but there is too high that we from unstable financial background cant afford it. It cost 6000-8000/- rupees per month. We charged monthly 1100/- rupees for food and quality is best in comparison to other hostels in this moderate fee. Classrooms are the smart one and Air Conditioned. Labs are well-equipped with the subscription of law websites like Manupatra and SCC Online. Libraries are filled with law journals, magazines, newspapers, reports, cases etc. but there is need to update and increase the numbers of those books which are outdated and less in number. WiFi facility is good but there is need to increase the speed. overall I can say that we are getting much than what we are paying in this stage of inflation.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The eligibility criteria for appearing in the entrance exam of B.A.LL.B (HONS) in AMU is having the certificate of Senior Secondary School. I had to go through the entrance exam of this course. One can take this course for persuasion from any background either from Science, Arts or Commerce. As I was Internal of this University so I get admission in 50% reserved seats for internal students.

Academics and Faculty

5

We have to attend only three to four classes daily of 55 minutes. Our first class conduct from 8:00 AM sharp at morning and if we came even after a second of ringing the bell we are not allowed to enter the class and if in case teachers allowed us to enter we don't get the attendance. Because teachers are very strict regarding discipline and attendance also. As we are law students then we have to observe the dress code and we cant enter the class without having black court and respective Bare Acts. We give the total of 38 to 40 exams in asemester, which includes 12 Geneal Class Tests from 1st and 4th units, 6 projects work inluding case comments and court comments, 4 viva or presentations, 6 tutorial tests from 2 unit of each subjects, 6 mid-term exams and 6 end term exams. our exams are taken so frequently that we dont face any sort of pressure in the end term exams. We submit soft copies as well as hard copies of each projects and Teachers analyse the projects and assignment with full concern that at the time of presentation they surely expose us that how much there is plagarised content in it and how much is allowed even with acknowledgement.

The quality and method of teaching is too good in our faculty. Teachers are too much efficient, skilled, discipline-lover, kind, generous and helpful. They teach us with the help of projector in smart class rooms and each day they let us know about the recent judgements of supreme Courts and High Courts. Overall experience in this faculty is so excellent that we are going to miss these moments badly, and one of the proud moment for us during persuation of the course is that our faculty ranked 1st among all the Law Schools in india.

Fees and Scholarships

2

The per year course fee is around Rupees 10,000/- excluding the mess and accommodation charges. We can either apply for Central Minority Scholarship or  States Scholarships. Not all the students who apply for scholarship get that but more than half applicant get the scholarship either from Central or state one. in this University most of the students belong to the family of middle class and numbers of students are from an unstable financial family background. But I don't have any idea that how they avail loans from which banks.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

There are Legal Aid clinic and meditation center,  to provide legal guidance and advisement to indigent and poverty-ridden litigants by associating students under the supervision and guidance of committed law teachers together with local judiciary. Law Society is also here which is a group of students actively involved in the affairs of the Faculty. Every year this society brilliantly organizes National Moot Court Competition in which a number of prestigious universities participate. This society also conducts a legal fest every year in which students enthusiastically participate in the legal quiz, legal essay writing competition, extempore, case comments etc. There is also a Dr. Ambedkar Chair of Legal Studies and Research for undertaking a study and research programmes on various aspects of the philosophy, thoughts, ideologies, missions, and ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi. The Chair of its credit publishes its well reputed legal journal entitled Quest for Justice regularly since 2005-06. It also organizes National Essay Competition every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar on behalf of the government of India. the life in college is too hectic that we have to study the whole semester regularly to pass the exams and we shall secure 50% marks in each subject in each exam, projects, assignments, and presentation otherwise we would be marked as fail. And we have to secure passing marks in each subject to be eligible to appear in next exam.
