Suryanshi B S's Review on IFIM Institutions, Bangalore

Internships are an important aspect of a student's life. It gives an exposure to the corporate world. Being in Semester 2 Haven't done internships yet. Companies hire students based on their requirement. It is not just MBA/PGDM students who get selected. They hire UG students as well based on different levels of the hiring process, namely Aptitude test, Group Discussion and Personal interview. Companies who come to our campus are Dell, Infosys, HDFC Bank, ID and so on. They usually look for students interested in the field of Finance and marketing. A B.Com student was offered a 6 Lakh package as her starting salary, just having done her UG course. IFIM institute does have a link with their alumni till date. Every year a day is celebrated especially for them, where people who graduated from different years, come to our college, provide funds for development, give insights to students about corporate world.

There are 2 hostels where the students can opt to live. A newly constructed hostel has facilities like gym, sports area, swimming pool. The quality of food is average, it is found to be that, many a times it is not hygienic. PGs in and around the institute is a better option than the hostel, as quality food is provided and liberalized compared to the way it is in the hostel. The infrastructure of the College is very well maintained. Labs, classrooms, libraries are equipped with right essentials a student would need, there is nothing that lacks in this aspect. WiFi is provided within the campus, but it does have connectivity issue and Many websites are blocked.

When the admission process began, I was first asked to undergo MCQ test, which had questions relating to General Knowledge, Math and English. Once finishing that test, HOD of my course took a personal interview, where I was tested about current happenings in the world and was given the situation and asked to answer based on them. The eligible criteria was to finish Grade 12 from Science, commerce or Arts background.

The classes happen from Monday - Friday, with Saturday given, has a holiday, which is rarely seen as compared to other Colleges. Classes begin every day, from 9:30 AM and go on until 4:30 PM. The Quality of teaching can be given 7/10. Teachers do teach well, but there are 1 or 2 who don't really see that students Understand Completely and not teach in a polite manner Overall Experience is in college is Very Good. The classrooms are well maintained, though the campus is not very big, it is environment-friendly with trees and plants around the campus. There are teachers who guide students Really well according to their field of interests. The institution does provide good placements as well

The course fee for BBA (General) at IFIM Institutions, Bangalore is INR 1,20,000 which is the highest amount taken compared to other courses which cost less than a lakh. Students enter here purely based on Merit! The scholarship is not provided by the college.  The fees do seem expensive, but for this course, it does cost the same in all other Colleges as well.

There are many clubs in the College namely Literary Club, Drama Club, Photography Club, E-Cell, sports club and CSR club. Events within the College keep happening, like guest lectures, intra College events, cultural programs, competitions, College Fest named Aura is a huge event celebrated every year, where students from different Colleges and our Institute students compete in various events. Kanyathon is another main event, where a Marathon happens in the surroundings of our Institute, the funds raised for the event, is handed over to NGO named CRY, which is used for providing education to a girl child. Overall it is a good experience, being in this particular institute, which is ranked 20 in India's College rankings. The facilities provided are good and sufficient for an average student.
