Placements and Internships

The Placement Cell serves as an interface between the students and the Corporates. Apart from bringing a varied list of Recruiters to the campus , the Placement Cell also organizes talks, study abroad seminars, internship opportunities and workshops for the collective student body. As an added feature skill building workshops such as workshops for Personal Interviews and Group Discussions and Personality Development have been introduced to help make the Placement Cell more like a ‘Career Services’ Unit rather than just for Final Placements.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

Being one of the best commerce college in India the college compromises on nothing, the infrastructure is good with all the basic facilities needed by any student available at stone's throw.Common facilities like BANK, BOOKSTORE, CAFE, COMPUTER AND STATISTIC LAB, COUNSELLING CELL, HEALTH CENTRE are easily accessible by the students.

Eastablished in 1956, Lady Shri Ram College(LSR) today is recognized as a centre of excellence that nurtures academic striving, extracurricular endeavour and social commitment.Today, the college is located in a beautiful 15 acre campus in South Delhi.LSR provides its students with an empowering space and each student is encouraged to make full use of the unique intellectual and cultural opportunities provided by the college.LSR today is one of the finest institutions foe Social Sciences, Humanities and Commerce,while also offering a B.Sc Programme in Statistics. Professional courses like Elementary Education and Journalism are among its strengths.LSR has approximately 2000 students, over 150 faculty, administrative and support staff and 16 courses of study. 

The teaching learning process in LSR is carried out through lectures , student presentations and weekly tutorials.Each group is assigned a section for lectures and a group for tutorials/practicals and presentations.In order to be allowed to appear for the University examination, every student except for those in the B.El.Ed Programme must have a minimum of 66.6% attendance in lectures/practicals/presentations/tutorials, in all the subjects, taken together each semester.The students are free to approach the teachers even after class hours.Overall, the students experience a friendly environment which helps them grow and nurtures them with the utmost knowledge.

 

Fees and Scholarships

The college fee varies from discipline to discipline. It varies from the range of 10,000 to 27,000 rupees. The fees is usually paid during the starting of a scholastic year and this amount covers for the entire scholastic year including the tution fee and all other additional charges.

Freeships, covering monthly College fees, are awarded to deserving and needy students. Only students who have secured admissions as regular students of the college are eligible. However, freeships cannot be granted during the time of admissions. Bus fare and financial assistance in the nature of books/medicine/food etc. are also provided to needy students.For this , the students have to apply at the beginning of the term.

LSR provides a number of schemes and scholarships to encourage their students to perform better.

  • MERIT SCHOLARSHIP : First Year students who obtained a first division in their Senior School, CBSE or ISC examination are eligible to appear for a Merit Scholarship examination held by the College. A scholarship is awarded to the students obtaining the highest marks but not less than 60% in the merit examination.
  • ACADEMIC SCHOLARSIPS: Merit scholarships of the value of tution fees are awarded yearly on the basis of the University results.However, to be eligible for these scholarships, students must score a minimum of 60% in the University examination.
  • SCHOLARSHIP FOR ORTHOPAEDICALLY AND VISUALLY CHALLENGED : A scholarship called the Lt. D.L. Morada and Bhagvati Morada Scholarship are given for the orthopaedically and visually challenged students.

 

Other prestigious scholarships including the Medeleine Ihsanullah Scholarship, the Bindu Agarwal and Saroj Gupta Scholarship, the Tejaswi Rao Scholarship, the Neha Puri Scholarship, the KPMG Scholarship, the G.L. Bansal Scholarship, the Omkar Nath Pandit Scholarship, the Har Dayal Singh Walia Scholarship, the ELSA Scholarship and the Anupama Dua Scholarship are awarded to students for consistence outstanding academic performance.

For students of M.A., merit scholarships of the value of tution fee in each subject are awarded to the students obtaining the highest marks in their respective subjects.

Clubs and Associations

In keeping with university regulations, each student must join either the NATIONAL CADET CORPS(NCC), the NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME(NSS) or the NATIONAL SPORTS ORGANISATION(NSO)

  • NCC: The NCC provides a space for stimulating and disciplined adventure and activities.
  • NSS: The objective of NSS is education through community service.It provides opprotunities to students to interact with less privileged than themselves and provides special practical experience in dealing with social problems.
  • NSO: The NSO in LSR is very active and LSR is the only College in the University to host an Annual Sports Meet and an Annual Cross Country Run.Students are given regular classes of two hours a week.Students have an opportunity of playing various games including lawn tennis, basketball,volley ball,table tennis,badminton,shooting,chess,archery,swimming as well as training in athletics and judo.

LSR prides itself on inculcating in its students a spirit of volunteerism and a sensitivity to issues of gender equity and sustainable development through programmes like VAPP, REACH, ABHYA and DHYANA.

Academics & Faculty : Daily routine is good exhaustive and many assignments are given on real world problems and teachers come to class very late. Teaching is phenomonials.
