Shruthi S's Review on VCET - Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology

I have been doing an internship at DRDO Bengaluru for past 1 month. There is no stipend for the internship, but the exposure we got here is amazing. Some of the major recruiters in our college are SAP labs, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Trianz, Robosoft for IT roles Cadence, Tessolve, Iwave, Sankalp semiconductors, Carmic, accord in hardware domain Average salary package is INR 3.2L to 3.6L Highest payscale is INR 9 Lakh per annum Alumni are well settled in their jobs.

5 girls hostels and 5 boys hostels are available. The hostel fee per year is INR 40k including the mess bill. There are many PG accommodation nearby costing INR 2.5K per month. The college canteen is not good.  A meal costs 20rs. Classrooms and other infrastructure are good. Labs are not up to the mark, many systems don't function well. Wifi is not available throughout the campus. Mobile is not allowed on the campus.

I got admitted to this college through KCET Karnataka. My KCET ranking was around 20K. Eligibility criteria: Must have studied PCM in class XI and XII with pass percentage.

Class timings are from 9 am to 4.45pm. Assignments and projects are given on regular basis. The quality of teaching is not up to the mark. Industrial required concepts are not fully taught at the college. Overall experience about college is average

Annual fees for the course is 62K Many scholarships are available for poor and bright students. Such as Karpas, ONGC scholarship, girlchild scholarship etc The percentage of students who get the scholarship is about 60%. Scholarships are provided by the government for the course through nationalized banks like SBI, Canara Bank, Karnataka bank etc.
