Placements and Internships
IIT guwahati aims at providing maximum placements to its students. Placement cell of IIT guwahati is highly active. But the Alumni netwwork, what i feel, is not that strong.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
A mesmerising campus with all the modern facilities. Academic area is blessed with free high speed wi-fi network. A huge library with books from each and every field. A computer centre with free internet facility. Transportation service is very good here. Nearly every hour we have buses that leads us to the city.

Academic Schedule
Three classes a day from Monday to Friday.
Labs of three subject once in a week.
Regarding Projects, currently I m working on a stellite project in summers.
We have two quizzes, a mid-sem and an end-sem exam.
Choice of courses
A lot of couses in different disciples of Engineering are availabe. In fact, IIT guwahati is the first one to have a Design course in Bachelors degree among all IITs.
Quality of teaching
Good Enough !
Professors accessibility
Professors are easily available. You just have to mail them or call them or just walk into their cabins.
Fees and Scholarships
The institute offers following scholarships:
- IMS-Institute Merit Scholarship : IMS is availabe for B.Tech/B.des/M.S/M.A students of the institute. The scholarship is meant for yearwise class toppers of all the streams and is awarded from second year.
- Merit-cum-Means : The scholarship is awarded to non ST/Sc students on the basis of merit-cum-means to upto 25% of the students. This includes fee waiver and monthly stipend for 8 months.
- ST/SC Scholarship : The scholarship is awarded to ST/SC students. This includes fee waiver, messing fee, hostel renting and monthly stiped.

Here we have lot of clubs. Number of clubs is so large that one cannot explore all the clubs in his 4 years of degree.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995.At present the Institute has nine departments covering all the major engineering and science disciplines, offering B. Tech., B. Des., M. Tech., Ph.D. and M.Sc. programmes. A department of Biotechnology and a department of Chemical Engineering are being established with student intake from July 2002. Within a short period of time, IIT Guwahati has been able to build up the necessary infrastructure for carrying out advanced research and has been equipped with state-of-the-art scientific and engineering instruments. Academics & Faculty : The academic management deserves more than 10 out of 10. The quality of teaching can be given 8.5/10, as there are very good proffesors but some are really bad. Overall my experience in the college is fabulous.
Clubs & Associations : Drama Club, Quiz CLub Accumen, COding CLub, DAnce Club-CAdence, Music Club, Photography Club-Montage, FInance And Economics Club, Movie Club, NSS Club, Prakriti Club, Automobile CLub. IIT Guwahati has perhaps the largest number of clubs.
