Here in VIT, you are supposed to be doing the one-month internship programme by the end of your course submission. Many companies across all branches come here to hire. Although the limelight is always taken by the CSE companies like Amazon, endeavours and so on. For CSE and it, you can expect an average salary of INR 6 lakhs per annum and as for the rest, anywhere around INR 4-4.5 lakhs per annum is an expected average. I have nothing to comment on the alumni network but I am pretty sure that it's quite strong around here.
There are around 10 hostel blocks for men and 6 for girls. Hostel fees range from INR 15k to 70k based on preferences like you want AC or not, how many people you want to be sharing your room. The food here is not like home but surely is better than other standard colleges. And quality is uncompromised. Mess fees go up to 50k based on preferences of cuisine. Payment is on the semester basis as mentioned above. Quality of classes is good, especially now that they have upgraded to smart classes. WiFi also is very good with up to 20gb per month and with an average speed of 200-250kbps.
Eligibility criteria is to have minimum 65 percent in your 12th boards. VITEEE was the entrance examination we had to give for admission into VIT. According to the ranking in VITEEE, one is given a category. Till 20k is first, then 2nd till 40k and so on. In every category, there is a limited number of seats for every branch. In the first category, EEE branch had its last seat till around 13.5k. Further students who were interested in taking EEE had to take it in the second category despite being in the first. The only difference is the fee structure. Fees increases as category number increases. Overall also, they have limited number of seats for every branch.
Classes are always on weekdays from 8 am to 7 pm. But catch here is that you can create your timetable here with a unique system here. Majority of the professors here have Ph.D. So you can guess for yourself how good the teaching must be. Apart from studies, there are many extracurricular activities going on around here every day with many operational clubs and chapters to take care of that.
Your fees commensurate with the category you took admission in. Around a year, with everything included from hostel to mess to tuition fees, the total comes around to INR 2.5 lakhs per annum for the first category. There's no scholarship program here that I am aware of. Loans are very easily available, even at the time of admission. Personally, I didn't do much of the paperwork related to it but it was very salient how easily it was done.
There are over 30 clubs, chapters, and teams here at VIT. Clubs are like trekking club, dance club, music club and so on. Reputation chapters like IEEE, IET are also part of VIT. Many successful teams which make cars, lightweight planes are also there. Riviera is one of the most famous cultural fest across India with many celebrities coming here to grace the festival. In general, life can be hard with exams around the corner but there's nothing that can't be solved with the couple of friends you hang around with during your course of time here at Vit.
