For entrance to DTU for a Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) course the sole criteria as of 2017 is your rank and score in JEE MAINS exam. This is a joint entrance exam conducted by CBSE every year for entrance to the maximum of the engineering colleges across the nation. If you've got a decent rank and marks in the exam then you can predict if you get to go into DTU from checking on various rank predictors available on the web according to previous year trends. The trends for the cutoffs generally vary every year but broadly the pattern remains the same except if there's a change in the moral policies of admission procedure. My rank was somewhere around 12k and I got admission in Software Engineering branch in DTU.

Daily routine in the first year is 5 or 6 hour non-stop classes from straight 8 am or 1 pm without any break or the classes are spread over 8am to 6 pm including breaks. For teaching my viewpoint is that classroom study doesn't help you in placements especially for tech background it's what you learn in the real world outside, classrooms are just for passing the classes and sitting for placements.
