Generally, the college hours start at 8 AM and end by 6 in the evening. You will have a 2hr lunch break from 12:15 to the 2'o clock and a 15min break from 10:00 to 10:15. Per day you will have 3-4 classes. Some days you might not have any class at all. You will have 2 lab sessions per week. If you opt for a lab as your elective in 3rd or a 4th year then you will have 3lab sessions per week. Maximum of the afternoons you will be free. You will have classes only in the morning hours. Towards the end of the semester, you might have extra classes. NITC always tries to find a better way to teach new batch. Method of teaching is really good and can you meet them in their office for doubts and guidance regarding courses. Professors are available on campus during work hours of the week. They are always available through emails during non-working and working hours. Engineering is not about just gaining a degree or job. It's about learning what life is and what you are. This college makes you successful both career-wise and individually.

Fees and Scholarships

NIT Calicut follows the fee structure implemented by the ministry of human resource development. If you want to check the fee structure for different courses you can go to www.nitc.ac.in or you can also check www.mhrd.gov.in But you can expect an average fee of 1L per annum if you opt for B.Tech. if you are a PG or M.Tech student you can earn money by assisting professors in college. If you are a fresher, you can apply for your state scholarship or national scholarship. Notification will be sent to your nitc email id or you can always check the college website for scholarship notifications or you can consult academic session for faster response. Everyone can apply for the scholarship. You need to clear all your subjects to be able to apply for the scholarship. If your CGPA is good you can apply for merit scholarship provided by the college. If you can't afford to pay the college fee you can apply for an educational loan. There is a bank near the campus which makes your loan process easy. You can even pay your mess bills and other fee using the loan.
