Placements and Internships

5

  • In the November of the first year of their PGP, students go through what are called summer placements. These are basically internships secured by the students for the summer break after the gruelling first year. Final job placements happen later in their second year, but one in three students also gets pre-placement offers from the companies he or she has interned with.
  • All major key companies and industries come to offer domestic and international offers in all major areas such as consulting, finance, marketing, operations and so on. Popular recruiters include McKinsey, BCG, Bain and Company, Goldman Sachs, P&G, Tata Steel, Yes Bank and many other big names.
  • Students get paid around 50,000 to 1,00,000 rupees on an average in their internships. Job offers have struck a median of 18 lakh rupees in 2014. 100% placements have always been an ordinary thing at IIM-A.
  • The alumni network of IIM-A is renowned for being very tightly knit and extremely well-placed and helpful to assist fellow alumni. Regular official events are organised every year, and even every month on a regional basis, for alumni across different batches to meet, interact, relax and make acquaintances.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

  • Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad IIM-A has one of the best infrastructures for an educational institution in the India and was designed and built by the best minds for the best minds.
  • All classrooms, labs, libraries are fully air conditioned and there is WiFi access across the entire campus. The state of the art infrastructure helps students to carry on with their academic pursuits in a very conducive environment.
  • The relatively small size of the campus means that personal vehicles are not necessary for daily use within the campus. Good access to public transport is available immediately on campus, and the city is rated the best to live in India. Ahmedabad has an excellent public transportation system.

Academics and Faculty

5

  • The intensity of the academic rigour at IIM Ahmedabad is not one of those old wives' tales. The pedagogy is completely based on case studies, and these cases give the student an insight into management ideas involved in running a small grocery shop to a big corporate firm. They are challenging and daunting, and the decisions you are forced to make built or destroyed corporate empires. They make you think, they make you sweat and they make you introspect. They prepare the student for the real world.
  • It is not just the things you learn at IIM-A which makes the difference. It is the way those things are taught. One day you will have all the time in the world and on another, you will find yourself with a short deadline for virtually impossible tasks, ranging from a dozen assignments to numberless quizzes. You are taught to survive in a realistic managerial atmosphere even when you are only learning what it takes to be a CEO one day.
  • The faculty at IIM-A are the very best in the country and having handled the best minds in India every year through and through, they know how to keep us on our toes. Their research credentials are impeccable, and each faculty has his/her own approach to introducing management concepts, which makes everything all the more interesting at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Fees and Scholarships

5

  • Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad offers one of the cheapest post graduate management programs in the world at its level of eminence in the B-school world. The entire course fees cost around twenty lakh rupees, which is a magnitude lesser than the cost of the world's best international MBAs.
  • Scholarship options are available to students with a poor family background and/or less income. All deserving students secure scholarships.
  • There is a very good availability of loans for studying at IIM-A. Banks offer loans ranging from 25 lakh to 30 lakh rupees without security to students pursuing a PGP at IIM-A.

Clubs and Associations

5

  • Life in college(Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad ) is fantastic. There are clubs for literally everything. From Anime to Astronomy and Zen philosophy to Zumba, there is a club for everything. Students play, sing and dance. There is a regular activity in all clubs and interested students participate religiously by maintaining an excellent balance between their academics and hobbies.
  • Students manage to play cricket, football, badminton, tennis and other sport on the campus, although the requirements of their courses do not give them a lot of leniency for sports activities.
