My course deals with social sciences from where generally go for academia or civil services. The University also has a central placement cell.
Can't say about hostels. Have a flat of my own. However, I have heard it is decent. The canteen food is also cheap. The quality could have been better. The University has an excellent WiFi connection. Classrooms are well maintained.
The entrance exam for my course was graduation. The exam screening process was followed by an interview with the shortlisted candidates. The cut off varies each year depending on the quality of the pool of students applying.
The department is really good in terms of preparing students in post-graduation for the academia. It makes us write term papers. They ensure we do not copy paste it from Google. The classroom environment is vibrant as there is a lot of teacher-student interaction.
Since it is a government funded institution, the course fee is really pocket-friendly for families. The University also provides various scholarships to the underprivileged.
Not engaged with any society and also have not come across any major campus festival so far. Life in college is good.
