Teachers are responsive and really helpful if you are interested. However, there may be one or two exceptions but overall quality is best. They are well-qualified and have done several pieces of research not only in India but in foreign too. Teaching methodology is nice some teachers teach through powerpoint while some prefer writing on board. Classes usually start at 8:00 am and ends up at 6:00 pm with several breaks in between. Life is busy and you won't get how time passes.
The annual fee for undergraduate courses at IITs has been hiked from Rs 90,000(INR) to Rs 2.0(INR) lakhs (tuition fees) from the upcoming academic session. There would also be a full fee waiver for SC/ST, differently abled students and those whose annual family income is less than Rs1 (INR) lakh(INR). Also, two-thirds of the annual tuition fee would be waived for students with annual family income up to Rs5 lakh. The student can get easy loans. Besides, that one can get a scholarship of different types like CSSS, heritage awards. Many scholarships are started by alumni of different batches. There are also several awards provides for the best sportsperson, artist etc.
80% students are placed. This year, the highest package was 1.39 crore (INR) in rupees bagged by three students from Microsoft. If C.G.P.A is maintained there is no need to worry. Internships are also available in abundance with the nice stipend. I am currently in second year interning at R&D, IDT ONGC Dehradun.
