Since it is a general degree college, it does not have any campus placement. Although individual departments might conduct the campus placement for the top 10 students of that batch.
There are 2 hostels. One for boys and the other for girls. Food per meal is INR 30-40. Quality of classrooms are not good, but labs are good. The library is huge enough to house a collection of 16,000 books, wifi is available only at the respective departments.
There is no entrance exam for B.Sc course. The eligibility for B.Sc course is to have a minimum of 80% in Higher Secondary or 10+2. Typical cutoffs for general caste is about 85% or 9.5 CGPA. For SC, ST, OBC it might vary from 70% to 80% or 8.0 CGPA to 9.0 CGPA.
Class starts from 8.45 am to 2.00 pm after which practical classes might be scheduled. Exams are held once in 5 months. The quality of teaching is very good. Teachers take the class in a very disciplined way. The overall experience is good.
Since it is a government college, the course fee is INR 7,000 per semester. Scholarships are available for merit students and backward castes. And no loans are needed.
Students societies are not very much to come expected as students union is a monopoly of students only from the hostels. However, we organized general elections, college week, foundation day, NCC cadets, several intercity sports matches and a computer hub for tech related Nerds.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Arya Vidyapeeth college is one of the premier institute in northeast India, which is located in the city of Guwahati. For Admission eligibility in B.sc, your aggregate in PCM or PCB should be at least 75% for major courses. For General course, you should have at least an aggregate of 60%. Typically cut off depends on the performance of the 12th candidates who seek admission but since its one of the best institute in the city for science which is affiliated under Gauhati University. The cut-off stays between 75-80%.
Placements & Internships : The Geology department of our college has a very wide network of Alumni and they help us to work with their esteemed companies like ONGC, GSI, ISM Dhanbad etc. The salary figures are usually concealed by the commission to ensure better performance of the students.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : Admission will be based on merit basis. Marks obtained in the 12th exam will be considered. The cutoffs are based on applying candidates for that course.
