Hardik Thakkar's Review on TSEC Mumbai - Thadomal Shahani Engineering College

College placements are organised by the career cell. Many companies come every year and recruit at a massive rate. Almost 100% placement is guaranteed. But mostly Indian companies recruit, no MNCs (Google, Microsoft etc) come for placements, The Alumni network is completely inactive and we did not even know that it existed.

 The labs are starting to get old and with the fees that they are charging it could be better. Old computers, slow networks, old blackboards etc the list can go on and on, Very good connectivity as the college is in the heart of the city,  Well connected by rail and road.

The classes start early in the morning (08:00h) and normally ends at 17:00 h. Saturdays are working - There are classes on Saturdays. The laboratory work is where we had the chance to put into practice all that we had learnt. The library was good too sometimes a little too noisy at times. well educated professors who adopt a professional approach. Teaching methods were old and traditional - lack of case studies, oral presentations etc. Extremely formal relationship with professors with almost no contact outside classes.

There are many scholarships available provided by the government and private companies. 100% tuition can be waived with certain scholarships, merit and cast based scholarships exist. On-campus jobs exist but are few. Need to have a good relationship with professors to get a teaching or a research assistant position.The Bank loans can be obtained but no real partnership with the school (normal interest rates apply, the school doesn't help in securing loans)

Lots of students associations, with lots of events planned. Cultural, Technical and various other kinds of clubs exist with healthy student participation. The college supports the associations in a healthy manner Cricket and Football are the main sports played. The sports associations had a significant budget with key sponsors we participated in national level sports tournaments. Other sports included badminton, table tennis, tennis etc.
