Placements and Internships

3.5

  • As I am a first year student, I dont know much about the jobs and internships. But they vary for different streams in the university. Computer, IT and Software Engineering students get better jobs and oppurtunites. Most of the eligible students get placed .The highest package figures touch the crore figure every year. The alumini network is very strong and is really very effective.
  • The institute can hardly be called a place for learning with most people's dreams ending at getting a job that pays well and not really being about a good education that will add value to and enrich their lives.
  • However, the college has good placement statistics, please refer to: Delhi Technological University - Delhi College of Engineering - Opps! for mor

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3.5

  • The campus is very beautiful and well maintained. The streets are nice, the road drainage system is quite good. The architecture is majestic, especially if seen from an aerial view. The floor space index is however abysmally low. All buildings have no more than 4 floors. It beats me as to why buildings are not built keeping future need for room and space in mind. Labs dont have updated infrastructure and machines. The DTU Library is centrally air conditoned and has a good collection of books. The campus is WIFI enabled. The quality of classrooms is also not to great.
  • The entire campus is replete with greens and there are lots of parks which lend themselves beautifully to the utility and structure of the campus.
  • Within campus, the students can commute in personal vehicles till 7 PM. The campus is well connected to the city as it can be reached by bus, metro and various public transport.

Academics and Faculty

2

  • Classes are held from 9 AM to 5 PM. The attendance is not a big issue but a minimum of 75% attendance has to be maintained. Assignments have to be submitted regulary. The relevance of the subjects in first year is not very clear as the courses taught are not of any purpose. The curriculum is not updated as compared to the other universities.
  • The quality of teaching is really not good at Delhi Technological University as most of the professors coming for classroom teaching are not very professional. Practical knowledge of the subjects is the least concern for the professors. Only few professors are accessible outside class easily. Exams are held twice in a semester, midsem and endsem with a weightage of 20% and 70% respectively.

Fees and Scholarships

4

  • College fee is Rs. 83000 at the time of admission and Rs. 78000 in the three subsequent years.
  • The university offers various scholarships for the reserved(SC and ST) and the financially weak students ( parents' annual income less than RS 250000).
  • Most students having good scores and satisfying the criterion are able to secure the scholarships. Bank loans are easily available through the on campus branch of SBI.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

  • Various technical, cultural and social clubs run in the college for dramatics, music, dance, robotics, etc. More than a hundred different socities work in the college under the Student Association.
  • The Student Association is very active and an annual fest- ENGIFEST is organised with their aid.
  • The students of DTU are provided with excellent facilities and encouraged to take part in the tournaments held in and around N.C.R. Delhi particulars, engineering institutions.
  • DTU is having 450 m. track, ground for Football, Hockey, Cricket, two courts for Volly ball, two courts for basketball, three courts for Tennis and five courts for Badminton, Table Tennis rooms, Chess Rooms, Carrom Rooms and Gyms are also available in the each hostel of the college campus.
