TCS is the mass recruiter of this college.There are also companies like Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, Wipro, Dynamic Digital Technologies, Oracle, IBM, Ericsson, TIL, Cummins India, MN Dastur etc. visit here.The average placement package lies in between INR 3.5-4Lakhs Per annum.In non-core departments like CSE and IT, most of the students have been placed.Our alumni are working under notable companies that are located worldwide.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
KGEC has excellent hostel facilities.Altogether, there are 4 boys hostel and one girl's hostel with proper accommodation facility.Sports equipment and Wi-fi are also available over there.The classrooms, labs, and workshops are also well equipped.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
I took WBJEE exam in the year 2017 and got Mechanical Engineering in the third round after having a general merit rank of 3007 and the closing rank was 3271(general category) in the Mechanical Engineering department.The closing ranks for other departments were also fair.So undoubtedly, it gets one of the best minds and the faculty here is also outstanding. Besides that, many more opportunities are also available here.
Academics and Faculty
The classes are conducted on regular basis and the faculties are also excellent.The quality education provided over here helps the student to learn and gain proper knowledge about the topic.Our seniors are scoring well in competitive exams like GATE and CAT.
Fees and Scholarships
Being a notable government college, the Fee structure is very low.For Mechanical and Electronic Engineering departments, it is ₹3000/- and for CSE and ECE it is ₹6000/- while for IT it is ₹12000 per semester.
Clubs and Associations
There are a lot of clubs. We can find clubs like photography club, Shutterbug, Quiz club-Le Quizables, Dance club-Elysium, Riyaz-Music club and so on.It has its own Technology Club called Techtix and also has an Entrepreneurship Cell.The annual fest Espektro is very famous. A lot of technical and cultural fests take place every year and this college is also flourishing in the field of sports like football.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria that one should hold to get an admission in our college is to hold the rank higher than 5000 in WBJEE exam for general category candidates and this will vary according to the caste category. There is nothing like cutoffs for the course but rank matters a lot as it is the 2nd ranking govt college in West Bengal after JU that a student can be admitted through WBJEE. HSC marks should be 60% marks.
