I got my 1st internship only when I got into 2nd year I mean 3rd sem. It was for a month in Kolkata, WB. It really helps you a lot because these are the keys, internships, projects your GPA that makes you keep going in the race, and finally, you get hired in the last year by classy companies and firms with nice salary package, that keeps your pockets warm. sadly I'm up to MBA so dropped the plan otherwise I also been earning between INR 10- 15 lakhs a year if been hired.
Spread over a mediocre 356 acres, the Indian Institute of Technology at Roorkee has one of the cleanest campuses among all the IIT’s. You must be 12th pass out, with JEE MAIN and JEE ADVANCED. I was really lucky that I managed to clear both Mains and advance in one go, that's how I became eligible to drop my name like you drop your check in check Dropbox in banks, with no idea what's finally going to happen. I don't have much idea about the cut offs.
IITs provide you with best faculties of the country. If you really want to learn, you learn so much from professors that you can't learn anywhere. All have resume of above 25 pages and having Phd from top universities. Many of prof. were students of IITs only. Professors of the college are very much qualified, who have completed their Phds. in their respective disciplines. Professors are classified into 3 categories based on their experience and skill namely junior professor, Assistant professor and senior professor.
There are so many options here we get. the course fee per year is definitely high but low as compared to private universities. It's around INR 99,990 to 1 lakh for the first three years simultaneously and only INR 59,000 for the last year. options are avaible everywhere so you have to keep eyes on everything and be focussed especially internals and class projects. College provides MCM(Merit Cum Mean) under which students whose parent income is under INR 4.5 lakhs don't have to pay tuition fee. There are some scholarships by alums.
The competitive academic environment and co-curricular activities on campus keep the students on their toes. The student's clubs: the Hobbies club, the U.G. club, the P.G. club, the Alaknanda club and the Jawahar clubhouse the indoor sports facilities including seven Billiards & Snooker Tables, Carrom boards, Chess boards, Table Tennis facilities and a Foosball table.
