Shubham Kashyap's Review on UPES, Dehradun

• I am presently doing my internship only in one of the reputed Govt. organizations IIRS/ISRO, Dept. of Space, Govt. of India, Dehradun. This internship was given by college only and can't ask more. As it is a Govt. organization so stipend is nothing here but people who are doing intern at DELL, IBM and in such companies are receiving the stipend of 25,000INR (approx).

Key companies here are IBM, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, TechMahindra, Commvault, and much more are visting UPES

• The average salary is 450000INR.

Our college has a very strong alumni network and does conduct many interactive sessions also which are quite helpful.

• The hostel fee is 90,000INR per year at the UPES campus, and trust me the hostels are really good with respect to food and hygiene.
• There are many PGs and private hostels nearby and can be easily accommodated.
• The overall infrastructure is very good and the labs are well equipped. Very highly classified labs are here I would like to name some as nanotechnology lab, flight simulation lab, microcontroller lab, workshop technology lab, programming labs, mainframe lab, and many are there.
• Classrooms are more than well furnished.

• Eligibility criteria for the admission are minimum 65% in 12th Boards (PCM).
• I took UPESAT, which is an admission test organized by the University at ALL India Level in which lakhs of student participation.
• The cut-off but rank under 10,000 was mandatory in the admission test.
• Admissions are also done with jee mains rank and 12th board toppers have special provision.

• Morning 9:30 to 5:30 is the timing with a lunch break of an hour. The schedule is very tight, loaded with assignments quizzes, projects, test and much more at UPES.
• The quality and method of teaching are very good. The college also gives an exposure to the industry as by conducting sessions from the industry experts.
• My overall experience is very good. 

• The fee of UPES lies between 200000INR
• There are many scholarship options on tuition fees, like based on 12th Percentage, University rank and Foreign scholarships (for the students from different countries).
• Our college also runs foreign exchange programs in which the talented students are sent to study abroad.
• 100-150 would be the average number of students receiving scholarships. As on date, the numbers may have increased I am telling this with respect to last to last year's information. 

There are many clubs and societies at the UPES and to name some in my knowledge are 

• ACM
• CSI
• HyperVision

etc these are there in computer science and such many are there in other branches too.

There are two main festivals - TURJA college fest, IGNITE- Technical Fest.

There is also a small summer excitement program by IBM, named as IBM Summer Week. 

Life is lively here, residing between the mountains of Dehradun and the soothing weather.
