College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are four hostels at NITW 1)ULTRA MEGA HOSTEL 2)MEGA HOSTEL 3)seperate hostel for ladies 4)seperate hostel for foreigners.
- Also many building blocks are there inside the campus like KALAM INTERNATIONAL HALL,GUEST HOUSE.
- The hostels are neat and clean and many security guards are there for safety issue.
- Hostel fee per month is Rs.1500 per month with a caution deposit of Rs.10000.
- Foods are awesome at NITW and the mess fees is Rs.12000 per semester.
- WiFi and LAN is available throughout the campus.
- Classrooms and labs are good at NITW.
- Library is awesome and the overall infrastructure is good.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria for B.Sc physics Honours is a minimum of 60% marks.
- Admission at NITW is done through centralised counseling for MSc which is known as CCMN.
- Joint Admission Test is the entrance exam held for MSc which will be conducted by IIT.
- Cut off was 30 for general category students.
Academics and Faculty
- Classes at NITW starts from 9 am to 5 pm with a two hour break in between which is from 12-2.
- Classes are good and the teachers are helpful in understanding the subjects.
- Overall experience is good and also practicals and labs are also satisfactory.
- Three to four labs per weekend at NITW.
- Assignments are given by the teachers frequently.
- In each semesters there are four exams and one seminar.
- The last six months of this course will be based on project in the industry related to electronic or photonics.
- Students are always engaged with projects under the departmental professors.
Fees and Scholarships
- There are no scholarships available at NITW.
- First semester fee was around Rs.68000 and second semester fee will be around Rs.23000.
- Third semester fee is around Rs.45000.
Clubs and Associations
- Clubs like Student music club, student quiz club and cultural programme club are there.
- There is a training and placement section called TNP at NITW.
- The main festivals is Technozian a technical fest which is very popular in NITW.
- Sports are very effective in NITW.
- College life is good at NITW
