Placements and Internships

4.5

  • Internships and training, though are not included in the curriculum in B.Tech, but it is recommended for campus placements. I have undergone training in BHEL and CRISP. Various big firms from analytics to construction, hire in the campus.
  • In core companies, the role is called ETs (engineering trainees). Software giants like Amazon and Microsoft also recruit from here (highest offered by Microsoft- 3.5MPA followed by Amazon-2.7MPA and Adobe).
  • The average salary for software profile is 8LPA while for the core is 5LPA. For consulting/analytics it is 5LPA. My batch had 85+ percent placement.
  • The remaining mostly went for higher education. We have a strong Alumni network. Be it any city, you will find people from MANIT. This is also elemental in inviting new companies for recruitment purposes.
  • Alumni are connected through LinkedIn and Facebook.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

2.5

  • There are 9 hostels, one for girls rest for boys. The hostel conditions are a bit appalling in various manners like hygiene, water availability, distance from the academic building (owing to 650-acre campus).
  • To my knowledge, the hostel fee were ~25k per semester. PGs are available in nearby areas at decent rates. Per month cost varies from 3k-8k based on size and location. Hostel food, as observed recently is below average, especially for boys hostel. Though some good places like High octane and Amul (in college campus) provide quality food at best rates. One time meal at max will cost you Rs.50 (the basic home type, no delicacies). Eating places are nearby.
  • Classrooms in the new teaching block are bigger and better compared to the old building. Mine was a lecture hall and is only present for electrical and mechanical streams in old building, so it was quite the experience. Electrical machine labs are best in college, I've also been to workshops and MSME labs, they are also good.
  • The library is a big turn-off.
  • There is great scope for improvement there. However, books can be found after the good struggle. Dining halls are for guests and recruiters only. Wifi is available in teaching area only though hostels are only given LAN connectivity) Infrastructure overall is good. Students auditorium, Incubation center (one of a kind to encourage research and startup ideas), playground are present. Work for shopping complex is also going on.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The entrance exam for getting MANIT is JEE mains and eligibility is according to the exam only.
  • Usually, 200+ out of 360 is an assuring score for getting your desired stream in MANIT.
  • In older days it was called AIEEE.
  • The admission procedure takes place between June and August at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, [MANIT] Bhopal.

Academics and Faculty

4

  • Classes are only 5 days a week, so there is ample time for development of other skills. at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, [MANIT] Bhopal.
  • Timing varies from 9-5 based on different streams and labs etc. Projects in 3rd and 4th year are included in curriculum. Assignments are not very hectic and can be submitted without much pressure. Exams happen in November and April for odd and even semesters respectively. In 1st and 2nd year, as these years only form basis of stream are taken mostly by associate lecturers. As we go higher, senior lecturers teach.
  • Classroom method is mostly followed unless there is any need for some topics which require video citations and explanations. Overall, environment for academics is good if you exclude some minor drawbacks.

Fees and Scholarships

3

  • For B.Tech it is ~80k per year at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, [MANIT] Bhopal.
  • Though officially there is no provision of scholarship from college on merit basis through communication about various govt./Pvt scholarships is timely given via advertisements.
  • Also reserved candidates are also entitled to scholarships through some govt schemes.
  • Also various national/international level competitions also communicated to students which provide good scholarships.
  • Loans are easily available at nominal rates (6.25%-11% based on certain criteria) from banks like Union Bank of India and Central Bank in Bhopal itself.
  • The money is sanctioned semester wise in the form of DD or transferred through Net banking upon submission of previous receipts/acknowledgment from college.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Placements: The placements are too good. In CSE, ECE and mechanical branch, the placements are very good, and others branches placements are almost good. I can say that all the students who are interested in the private job and wants to achieve a top placement can apply for this institute. Infrastructure: New hostels have fine facilities such as living rooms, sports, games, classrooms, and labs are in good condition. All the materials are provided in labs and library. All over infrastructure is average in condition. The Wi-Fi speed is good in old hostels. In new hostels, the Wi-Fi facility is not provided. Otherwise, all facilities are good rather than old hostels. Faculty: The teaching quality is average. The faculty is disciplined, and they are punctual. Exams pattern and question paper level is not good, but helpful to get knowledge. All courses are provided and are having fine facilities. Knowledge level can increase by the material which is provided in this institute. Other: All events, fest
