Placements and Internships
- I am doing a content writer internship for a blog.
- I get 1000Rs and bookmyshow tickets per month as stipend. I found my internship myself. Placement Cell mainly focus on the students of final year and is not very active at Daulat Ram College.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There is one hostel which only accomodates out of station students.
- If a student is living in Delhi but at a two hour distance from the college, she will not get a seat in the hostel even when there are seats available. The cost of the hostel per month for 1st year students is 10000rs.
- There are lots of PGs situated in the area. Per month cost is in the range of 6000rs - 16500rs usually.
- Canteen is good. One can have a happy and satisfied tummy in just Rs25. Food is good and cheap.
- Classrooms are good. Classrooms are of different sizes all over the college. There are suitable classrooms for 10 students to almost 80 students or more. Library is good. Wi-Fi facility is available but doesn't always work. There is a huge Auditorium, a gym and an amphitheater inside the college.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- No entrance examination was held for my course.
- The admission was based purely on the marks obtained in four out of five(or more) subjects in class 12 boards.
- The lowest cutoff for the course in 2016 was 92%.
- The cutoffs are usually around 92% to 96%.
Academics and Faculty
- One class takes place for 1 hour.
- Sometimes there is a gap of 2-3 hours between two classes and that is frustrating.
- There is at least one assignment and exam for each subject. Projects are given for some subjects.
- The method of teaching is good. Teachers are both young and highly qualified at Daulat Ram College. They prove to be friendly guides for us.
- Overall experience is good. There is healthy competition among students here. Academics are the main focus of the college.
Fees and Scholarships
- It is approximately 15000 rs for a year at at Daulat Ram College.
- To be exact 14870. We pay the examination fee separately which is around 1100rs yearly for my course.
Clubs and Associations
- There are lots of societies in the college. You name it and they have it. The main festival is called Manjari which is brilliant. (cultural) The festival of English department is called Literati. The students of the department stage a play.
- College life is good in general. It's not awesome but it's quite nice at Daulat Ram College.
