Placements and Internships

3.5

Again getting a good job is subjective. What would be great for a fresher might not be so great for an experienced candidate. It is important to know what companies/profiles one is targetting. Most of the big Marketing anf FMCG firms come to recruit. Finance and general management are also great. Usually the campus manages 100% placements

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

The infrastructure is pretty good considering that it is built on hill. The internet connectivity has improved a lot in this the year but still has a lot of scope for improvement. The lecture halls are state of art and the library is very resourceful. The campus boasts of scenic beauty, one that takes your breath away. :)
The campus is not very friendly for physically handicapped people. No ramps available. I would deduct a mark for not having a swimming pool. Though most of the facilities for sports enthusiasts are available.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

Academic load is pretty high initially, with one barely managing 3-4 hours of sleep in a day. But after that th pressure eases as on acclimatises to the busy schedule. Most of the subjects are relevant to the course though some may find the pedagigy questionable. But hey, it is a PG programme and the onus of learning and extracting most out of a course lies on the students. Getting a good/bad teacher is just a matter of luck. The professors are mostly available outside classes as well.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

The campus has some 30 student bodies including interest groups, clubs for your hobbies and committees. there is something for everybody.
These ensure enough importance is given to placement preparations, skill development, interaction with other colleges, industry interactions and insights, social service, competitions, sports and a lot more.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode takes CAT scores as qualification criteria. It first declares an initial shortlist which includes everyone who has scored above a certain percentile in CAT. The initial shortlist candidates are required to fill in their academic details and discipline. IIM Kozhikode then declares another shortlist based on these criteria plus CAT score with different weights to components. The shortlisted students are required to go through written aptitude test followed by group discussion and interview. Each of these has different weights in final selection along with CAT score.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria for IIM is a bachelor's degree in any discipline, although around 80-85% of the students who actually made it in here are engineers, from primarily IITs, NITs, etc My batch(2016-18) also has CAs, Doctors, commerce graduates and other students from other backgrounds as well. Entrance Exam is for getting into IIM is the CAT exam. It takes place during October and November every year. Cutoffs in IIM are typically to score 98 percentile and above in CAT and then wait for an interview call from IIM. But weightage is given to attributes to like work experience, academic diversity, gender diversity etc. Huge weightage is attributed to the interview process(around 40-60%, on a dynamic basis every year ).

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria were to have a degree from a recognised college with a minimum of 50% in both 10th and 12th. To get into the institute one has to crack an exam called common admission test. One has to score in the range of 98 and above percentile to get an interview call. Once he clears the interview, he can attend the college.
