Placements and Internships
- The Alumni network is poor at Savitribai Phule Pune University and campus placements haven't happened in the past few years.
- The teachers, however, guide us for internships, whenever possible.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are 8 hostels for men at Savitribai Phule Pune University.
- The fees are very cheap which is Rs. 970 (old hostel) for 6 months, however, the condition of the hostel is also very poor with a scarcity of washrooms.
- The classrooms and the library are very good.
- The food is very cheap which cost Rs. 30 (rice, 4 chapatis, dal, one wet and one dry vegetable), however, the taste is usually not that great. Nonveg is never served.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria for getting admission in Savitribai Phule Pune University is to clear the SET exam and the admission proceeded is based on merit.
- There were seats for the casts and a seat for a sportsman.
- There are no cutoffs as such. The entrance, however, isn't fair as there is a first preference for people from (colleges affiliated) Pune University and, in the open category, 2 people from the same university cannot enter even if they stand one below the other on merit.
- The seat will go to the candidate who stands next from any other university.
Academics and Faculty
- The official timings at Savitribai Phule Pune University are from 9 am -5.30 pm.
- Some teachers are very good while some are pathetic.
- The schedule is hectic as there are two exams every Saturday apart from the regular classes.
- The 40 marks internal exam is split into 4, 10 marks exams, thus providing for 2 exams each Saturday.
- There are 4 subjects in each semester.
Fees and Scholarships
- The fees for the open category at Savitribai Phule Pune University is Rs. 15k and however, we have to pay an additional Rs. 1.2k (open category) each semester as exam fees.
- Scholarships are not available for the students.
Clubs and Associations
- The college life is decent at Savitribai Phule Pune University, however, there literally aren't any food joints/ clubs/ hangout places in the vicinity, at a walking distance.
- Each department has its own fests however they usually for department oriented rather then the whole university getting involved.
- The campus is huge which is 450 acres.
- There are very few shops on campus.
