Akarsh Rao's Review on LBSIM - Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management

Good number of companies come to the campus but few well known companies come for internship. Stipend are provided for only 10-25 companies. The TPO says they are not here to get the students placed but to impart knowledge. Don't keep high hopes on average package. Only highly qualified student get placed with package above 10 lac else 7 lac. There's not much to worry about internship. Almost the whole batch gets placed. This institue has extensive Alumni network and has an active Alumni cell. The placement cell is student driven, so the companies coming here are based on PC students effort. The is outreach program where the students are selected by the seniors for bringing companies for placement and the program gives great experience to the selected ones.

Library is big but the number of essential books are less. Most of the book that you get from ''Institute'' are never recommended by the faculty and only 3-4 copies of those recommended are available in library. There is wifi connection but gives average speed. Recently facebook has been blocked. There is no huge campus to boast of. If someone is passing by, without the Institute name board no one will notice it. No bus service is provided.

The number of subjects average to 7 in all trimesters for first year. You get to bunk 5 of 20 session for each subject. Overall its ok ok college. Some of the faculty are excellent while some are for namesake. This college is trying to follow into the footsteps of IIM and this is deteriorating the functioning of the institute. It should be able to make its own way. The main and the basic thing about an MBA college is to be able to teach how to crack a case study and go forward. This is the area the Institute is lacking. One more drawback is that there's almost negligible holidays except for sunday and some saturday. There is no break between end of a trimester and the start of new one. Unlike other MBA institutes this college is looking to complete its course in 18 months instead of 24 months.

Bank loans are not available here. Scholarship are provided only to the needfull, if an affidavit of the income and mark sheet is produced. College is fee Rs.8 lacs for two years and some 50k .

There are lots of clubs to choose from. A lots of club activities takes place inbetween. Also the college is known for its extracurricular activities. The is an annual sports and cultural fest.
