Placements and Internships
- Companies coming for placements at VIT University are increasing every year and offering a vast variety of offers and internships.
- Almost all types of streams get their chances to get placed but mostly IT companies are coming with awesome packages.
- Average salary package goes around Rs. 3.6 Lakhs to Rs. 4 Lakhs per annum.
- During my final year, the highest package was offered by Amazon (Rs. 26lakhs pa), Codenation(Rs. 27 Lakhs pa) and around 7 more companies which offered more than Rs. 20 Lakhs per annum.
- Alumni network is great on the campus.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are around 20 hostel buildings at VIT University and all are well maintained with every type of facilities.
- Hostel fees will be around Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 90,000 per year.
- PG and all other types of Bachelors and Post Graduate Courses are efficiently available with collaboration with many International colleges too for further studies. No idea about their costs.
- Food in messes is available in every variety depending on regions of India and messes have different categories. For special mess cost per 3 meals plus snacks is around Rs. 150.
- Sometimes food is just like the food of Jail would have been better but its only happens twice a week.
- There is not lack of any type of facilities around the whole infrastructure and almost everything is totally digital including Labs, libraries, and classrooms.
- Wifi of 10gb per month is given to every student but its speed is 130kbps max.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria are quite simple which is based on the VITEEE examination independently conducted by VIT University.
- The exam consists of 120 questions on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Typically cutoffs are based on the ranks obtained in VITEEE exam and scholarships is also provided to state toppers and some top scorers of VITEEE exam.
- Generally, counselling takes place for the branch selection and student with higher rank will get first chance to select their particular specialization.
- Counseling procedure is quite complex.
Academics and Faculty
- The class timings at VIT University are from 8 AM to 7:30 PM.
- Projects are on basis of subjects and assignments are provided regularly.
- Coming to exams, it's quite hectic because there is 2 Continuous Assesment Test(CAT/ 50marks) and 3 quizzes(5 marks) and assignments(5 marks). This total has 50 internal marks and at last, there is Final Assesment Test(FAT/100 marks) which will be converted to 50 marks and total marks will be out of 100 marks.
- Lab courses have different marks division. Grade Point Average (GPA) system is followed.
- The quality of teaching is not as good.
- Overall experience in college is good.
Fees and Scholarships
- My Year fees at VIT University is Rs. 1,22,500 (excluding Hostel) and Rs. 2,10,000 (Including Hostel) per year.
- The course fee for management students is Rs. 4,50,000 per year (Including Hostel).
- Scholarship options are totally available on basis of how you perform in the VITEEE exam.
- Around 1000 students are eligible to get scholarship excluding state toppers.
- It is up to the student that whether he/she wants a loan and it is easily available from any banks.
Clubs and Associations
- There are around 200 clubs, societies, and a variety of events and workshops are held at VIT University.
- Tech Fest is GRAVITAS which is celebrated on the campus.
- Cultural Fest is RIVIERA.
- So many management fests and premier leagues of sports also take place throughout the year.
- College life in VIT as above average and quite interesting and fun.
