Placements and Internships
- I have done my summer internship at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant during my Under Graduation.
- Yes, IT companies do hire MCA graduates from University School of Information and Communication Technology.
- The average package offered was Rs. 3.5 Lakh PA and Highest package being Rs. 27 Lakh PA.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are separate hostels for boys and girls at University School of Information and Communication Technology, Hostels are good and well maintained.
- Hostel Fee varies per room and comfort. There are AC and NonAC rooms available for the students.
- PGs facility outside the college are also good, but there might be food issues, I have no idea about their cost as I am a hosteller.
- Food in hostels is good comparatively to other hostels.
- The quality of classrooms, labs, libraries, dining halls, Wi-Fi are all good.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria for joining University School of Information and Communication Technology is passing the 12th and 10th in any stream with 50% of marks.
- I have completed my UG in BCA stream with 50% of marks to get admission in this college.
- The students have to clear the VITMEE exam to get admission in this college.
- There is no particular cut-off for my course but the students are required to score good marks in VITMEE exam.
Academics and Faculty
- Class timings at University School of Information and Communication Technology are totally dependent on the slots that you choose during course registration, almost each and every subject has a project which is known as J component, Exams are categorised into 3 parts : CAT 1, CAT2, FAT, where CAT 1 & 2 are mid exams and FAT is the Final Assessment Test.
- Assignments play a crucial role too in the whole of 2 years. We have assignments in each and every subject no matter it is a lab/ Theory.
- Quality and methods of teaching are pretty good.
- There are projectors in class for teaching and as well as white board to write.
- Overall Experience is good, but stressful.
Fees and Scholarships
- My course fee at University School of Information and Communication Technology is Rs. 1.27 Lakh PA.
- I have no idea about the scholarship facility available to the students.
- Taking Loan is dependent on the student. There are many students who take loans and loans are available easily through Indian Bank which has tied up with the university.
Clubs and Associations
- There are many clubs present in the University School of Information and Communication Technology.
- Gravitas is the tech fest conducted in the campus.
- Riviera is the cultural fest which is conducted for 4 days.
- College Life in general is ok, with many different people from throughout the country of different cultures and behaviours.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : VIT University conducts VITMEE (VIT Masters Entrance Examination) for admission in its MCA programme. However, the university offers direct admission to candidates with a valid GATE score. Eligibility Criteria: The minimum criteria to appear for VITMEE is a bachelor’s degree in computer science/application, mathematics or statistics from a recognized university. The candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks or first class in their graduation. The candidates in their final graduation year can also apply for the entrance examination if they have secured 60% marks or first class in their last qualifying examination.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : I completed my ug course at VIT University Vellore. Later, I continued my PG course in VIT. The eligibility criteria were to complete my UG course in the same steam to join the PG course. As I completed BCA, it was easy for me to pursue MCA.The admission process started with applying on application. Then I was scheduled with an entrance exam at the university. Then I attended my entrance exam. This exam was a little difficult but similar to CAT, MAT, XAT exams. There were aptitude questions, English grammar questions, Computer technical questions, and mathematical questions. The exam timing was 3hrs, and it was an online exam.Later, the result was published in rank order. Only students who got in the top 1000 rank were eligible for the counselling section. I was called for counselling in university. I don't know about the cutoff's, but the result was based on rank order. There were nearly 200 seats available in VIT, Vellore.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I did my MCA from VIT University. So, the eligibility criteria were decided for any UG course like any other BCA or B.Sc course. The admission procedure was: First, you have to apply for the course on VIT Website and they assign the entrance exam Then, they call for you for counseling where they discuss your admission. The entrance exam was VITEEE. Above 60% in UG.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility should be 70 % in 10th, 12th and degree . The exam was full of degree subject related questions. It will be decided University at time of results
