Placements and Internships

  • I have done my internship in National Institute of Technology with no stipend paid.
  • The companies visiting the campus offered more than Rs. 20 lakhs pa for the students.
  • Everyone got placed in my batch and generally, all students get placed.
  • The average salary paid is Rs. 3 lakhs per annum and highest is around Rs. 25 lakhs pa which is from companies like amazon.
  • Alumni network is very strong.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

  • There are 11 hostels present in National Institute of Technology. Now a new hostel has been built with 7 floors and it is the best hostel as of now.
  • All students are accommodated in the campus and hostel fee at my time was around Rs. 15,000 per year. Now they have been increased.
  • Food quality is decent but cannot be compared to home food.
  • There are canteens which have decent food service.
  • There is a wi-fi in the classes and classrooms are LAN enabled.
  • Hostels are very good and classrooms are very decent.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The eligibility criteria for joining National Institute of Technology is passing the 12th from CBSE/ICSE/STATE Board.
  • The students have to clear the JEE MAIN exam.
  • I got 4508 rank for getting admission for computer science and engineering course.
  • The cut-off for my course is 25000 AIR.

Academics and Faculty

  • The daily routine is not very loaded and students get enough time for co-curricular activities and to pursue their hobbies at National Institute of Technology.
  • Professors are decent and try to involve students in both theoretical and practical exercises to enable learning.
  • Overall experience is very good and it was memorable for me.

Fees and Scholarships

  • The course fee at National Institute of Technology was Rs. 15,000 per year but now fee has increased to around Rs. 1 lakh per year.
  • Scholarships for SC/ST/OBC students are available and are given on merit basis.
  • Some scholarships are for all SC/ST/OBC students which come as monthly stipends.
  • There are some general students also who get scholarships.
  • Around 50% of students can avail the facility of scholarships.
  • At our times, loans were not needed. Now they may be required. There is an SBI branch on campus which can provide loans as per policies to the students.

Clubs and Associations

  • There are a sports club, cultural and dramatics club, soft skills club and many others at National Institute of Technology.
  • Life in college is very enjoyable and there are facilities for the same.
  • There are technical, cultural fests every year and they are organized on a big scale.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : You can get a seat in NIT JAMSHEDPUR on the basis of JEE MAIN rankings or a limited amount of seats are available for DASA ( Direct Admission to Students Abroad ). I took JEE MAIN and when I attended admissions, for Computer science and engineering, the cutoff was up to a rank of 13000.
