Placements and Internships

3

  • Placements are quite okay at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University but there has been a drop in the quality of jobs offered by the companies in the recent year.
  • Very few companies having their core competency in ECE attend campus placements. A CS and IT guy have a lot of scope in JIIT if he/she is good in programming skills. The majority of the students get placed at the end of their courses.
  • Companies like Amazon, Deloitte, Barclays, Zomato, SAP Labs, Paytm, Kuliza, Browserstack, Ernst & Young, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant are the major recruiters.
  • The average salary is Rs. 3-4 Lacs/annum with the highest package is Rs. 26 Lacs/annum offered by Amazon. Last year 12 students got placed in Amazon at JIITU.
  • Since this is a new College(inception 2002) the alumni network is not so strong.
  • Internships and summer industrial training are to be done at the end of 3rd Year. These are done based on the area of interest of the particular student.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

  • Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University Infrastructure is good when accessed in the area of campus. Since the campus is in the heart of the city, space is limited with no scope of expansion.
  • There are 4 Computer Labs with 120 Computers each. Computers are updated with the requisite software. ECE department has a host of labs for their various subjects.
  • The library(LRC) has all the major books and journals. You can get the majority of books required in the LRC which is wifi enabled and is also updated with all the available newspapers and magazines.
  • There are 3 Hostels for girls and 2 for boys. Approximately 2500 seats are available in the hostels. There is a centralized mess called as Annapurna with serves food 3 times a day.
  • There are many options for students in terms of staying out of the campus. Flats in societies as well as PG's are easily available.
  • The food quality in the mess is good when compared to other colleges where I have had mess food. The mess charges are included in the Hostel fee for the semester (Rs. 52,000/Sem).
  • The classrooms are big and spacious with Centralized AC which runs during the summer season.
  • Hostels are Wifi enabled with each student having a unique login id and is authorized to use 1GB/day.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • Admissions in JIIT start in the month of April and are based on your JEE MAIN rank. All students who have passed 12th or are appearing for it can apply for JIIT which conducts its own counseling for admissions.
  • JIIT offer courses for undergrad students in B.Tech(4 Year) and Dual Degree programs(5 Year, B.Tech and M.tech) in Computer Science and IT, Electronics and Communication Engineering and BioTechnology.
  • Computer Science is the most sought after with cutoffs closing at 70k(AIR). Next are ECE and IT with closing ranks at 100k(AIR). BioTechnology courses are offered separately by admissions based on 12th class boards result. Dual degree courses generally close after their Btech ranks.

Academics and Faculty

2.5

  • Academics is based on credit system at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University. A student has to complete a minimum number of credits to be eligible to earn his degree.
  • Classes are held from Monday to Saturday. Timings are from 9 am - 5 pm.
  • There are 3 exams held in a semester with an overall weight age of 75% with the rest in the hands of a teacher which they grade on your attendance, Projects, quiz and assignments.
  • There are few teachers who engage in meaningful learning but the overall system is designed for students to get into jobs and focus on innovation and Creative thinking is less.
  • The overall experience in the college has been okay.

Fees and Scholarships

2.5

  • The course fee for B.Tech courses at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University are:
  1. Rs. 1,55,000 (Tuition Fees and Development) annually.
  2. Hostel Fees with fees charges are Rs. 52,000 for one semester.
  • There are a lot of scholarships given out to the needy students based on to their family income. Students can opt for scholarships given by college administration and state government. These scholarships are given to the economically weaker students and are reviewed on the basis on a scoring of grades in college exams.
  • Loans are offered by national banks at existing interest rates. The loans are easily offered by all major banks in the country.

Clubs and Associations

3.5

  • There are many societies in Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University. Major societies are related to Robotics, Programming, CICE(Electronics), GDG(Google Development), Music, Dance, Literature, Economics and few other.
  • Individual events are organized by the respective clubs round the year. Students can attend these clubs as these are major hotspots for learning stuff that can be applied in day to day work.
  • We have 4-5 festivals organized every year relating to cultural, sports, Technical and one major fest called Impressions which is the amalgamation of each kind. Festivals are quite good and the funding is provided by JYC(Jaypee Youth Club) which is the governing body of these clubs and their funding.
  • Life on the campus is good as the campus is located in the heart of Noida and all major facilities are close by.
  • Sports facilities include 3 Gyms, 1 Swimming Pool, Billiards and Snooker, Table Tennis and Squash Court(Not Operational Yet).
  • Outdoor games are played in a limited area as the space in college is less.
  • We have badminton, Volleyball, Basketball and Lawn Tennis Court in our college.
