Placements and Internships
- The placements are good at National Institute of Technology and even better if you are good in coding and have honed communication skills.
- There are numerous companies that visit our campus, some of which I would like to mention For a software engineer is Oracle, SAP, Samsung R&D, Drishti Soft, HighRadius, Capgemini, Intellect Design Arena, Wipro Technologies, Infosys, Tech Mahindra For Core Branches, Tata Motors, L&T, Alstom.
- The highest package that has been offered this year is Rs. 16 lakh pa.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are 3 boys hostel and 3 girls hostel in National Institute of Technology campus, however, 2 more hostels are under construction and will be completed in May or June this year.
- The mess fee is Rs. 2,100 per month. The food provided in the college mess is average, it is provided thrice in morning, afternoon and night.
- The quality of classrooms, labs, dining halls is average. However, newly formed smart classrooms are better.
- The library facility is entirely computerised and some of the labs like labs in Computer centre are well maintained and have the fastest processors and the Internet speed is freaking awesome.
- Most of the classes and halls which are constructed or are in construction are pretty good.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The entrance examination that I took for getting admission in National Institute of Technology was JEE MAIN in 2013.
- The eligibility criteria are just you have to be in 12th standard or 12th pass. You can attempt the examination only thrice.
- If you want to secure a seat in Computer science branch of my college, you need at least 200 out of 360 marks in JEE MAIN which is conducted in April every year.
- There are both offline and online modes of giving a test, while the offline mode is on 2nd of April this year, the online mode will be on any day in the first couple of weeks in April. After you are done with the examination, ranks will be given. And on the basis of ranks, seats will be allocated.
Academics and Faculty
- In National Institute of Technology there is an end semester exam at the end of every semester which is of 70 marks, then there is a mid-semester in the middle of every semester which is of 20 marks and rest 10 marks is for the class test and assignment that is dependent on the teacher who is teaching the course.
Fees and Scholarships
- The fees for our batch at National Institute of Technology per annum was just Rs. 36k per annum. But it has increased to nearly Rs. 1 lakh pa.
- The scholarship options available are mostly given by the state government that they belong to and also if they are from a backwards category.
- Loans are indeed needed as the fees are quite high.
Clubs and Associations
- There are a number of clubs in National Institute of Technology like Sankalp, Exe, Abhyuday etc.
- The technical fest is held every year in the month of January, named Corona.
- The cultural event named Melange is held every year in the month of January which deals with everything from dancing, singing to acting.
- Life in college is good.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : For getting admission in this college you have to qualify JEE MAIN. If you are qualified then you have to go through counselling of 6 to 7 stages. Typically rank for getting CSE in our college is 11000-18000 for CML.
Academics & Faculty : NIT Patna provides to all its students, employees and staff all the basic amenities that are required for a more resourceful and healthy development. A fully equipped Wi-Fi campus ensures uninterrupted 24 Hrs internet access at every nook and corner of the campus. The institute provides residential facilities to students through three boys hostels and one girls hostel. The Institute maintains a central Library which has over 50,000 books and about 1,100 internationally acclaimed e-journals and works for about 10 hours per day. The library as well as all the computer labs everywhere in the institute are centrally airconditioned.Though NIT Patna lacks a bit in infrastructure, students are firm in their belief that very soon, it’ll be among the top 5 NITs.Every year, about 90% of the students get placed, and most are quite pleased with the jobs they get.
