Placements and Internships
- In the second year of my course, I went for a design intern at Acredeals Realty where I worked for 3 months and received a stipend of Rs. 3,500.
- In the 3rd year of my course, I went for a summer internship at ABP publications, Kolkata where I worked for 2 months and got food and accommodation but no stipend.
- The companies that visited Jadavpur University campus include software giants like Microsoft, Directi, Samsung R&D, consultancy giants like PWC, Deloitte, finance based companies like Goldmann Sachs and other core companies like Maruti Suzuki, Volvo, Royal Enfield, ITC etc.
- Mass recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, Accenture, IBM and others.
- The university has a good average percentage of students getting placed every year of 92%.
- The average pay package by the end of a placement season is Rs. 4.5 lakh pa and the highest salary figures are Rs. 23 lakh pa.
- The alumni network is good and large.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- The infrastructure is good in every aspect at Jadavpur University, be it campus or hostel.
- About 40% of the students stay at the hostel. The hostel fee is Rs. 25 per month.
- The food cost varies from Rs. 1,400 to 1,500 per month for each hostel boarder.
- The quality of the food varies from average to good.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- To take admission in Jadavpur University a student should have a minimum average of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- I took WB JEE exam which is taken by around 1.8 lakhs students. I secured a state rank of 2996 which helped me to take admission into Jadavpur University at the Department of Printing Engineering.
Academics and Faculty
- Students go through continuous evaluation including 6 theory based subjects in each semester and four practical based subjects. That means students are evaluated on an overall of 1000 marks which are then converted into CGPA.
- In their pre-final and final years, students submit projects and give presentations on the subjects they have been taught till date.
- The faculty members are quite helpful and cooperate with the students to come up with innovative ideas at Jadavpur University.
- Overall experience in college is good.
Fees and Scholarships
- Jadavpur University is one of those universities have a low fee structure of Rs. 2,800 per year.
- Moreover there are many scholarship options open for needy students including the Alumni Scholarship, SC/ST Physically Handicapped And B.ED. Physical Education Scholarship, Students Aid Fund, stipends on merit basis with around 70 to 80 students getting scholarships every year.
- With such low fee structures, students do not need education loans.
Clubs and Associations
- The student community at Jadavpur University is quite enthusiastic in every field including sports, music, dance, innovation etc.
- There is a sports club, science club, music club, debate club etc.
- Moreover there are many fests that go on as the year goes starting with CIPPUS and U-TURN, annual Freshers' party followed by Srijan, the annual technical fest followed by ARENA which is an interdepartmental sports tournament followed by Sanskriti, India's longest cultural fest which lasts for 7 days followed by other events and we end up with ROMANTHAN that is the farewell event.
- With so many fests and activities spending four years at Jadavpur University is a happy, innovative and distinctive experience for the students.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The minimum eligiblity to apply for admission is 50% of marks in 12th PCM. I gave the WBJEE exam for admission. The cutoff for the admission is rank between 1500-1600.

The eligibility criteria are 1. The candidate must a citizen of India. 2. The student must be 17 years old for applying for the entrance exam as on 31st Dec of the year of application. 3.
