Placements and Internships

The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology collaborate with industries to provide for internships and training. The stipend normally depends upon the qualifications of students but the experience is quite useful.
The college tries to educate the students in the vacation also via such internships and training.
The placement statistics for the batch 2012-2016:-

1)TATA steel- Rs. 8.33 lakhs/anum-2 students
2)Delloiite-Rs. 6.20 lakhs/anum-20 students
3)Maruti suzuki-Rs. 6.80 lakhs/anum-8 students

Total 416 students placed.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology provides with 6 boys hostel and 5 girls hostel and 2 under construction.
The hostels are walkable distance from the college. The hostel rooms are shared by 2-4 people and are well spaced with cupboards and tables.
The mess food is very decent.
The mess provides 4 meals a day and including beverages during an evening.
The food is cooked in very hygienic conditions and is properly monitored.
The hostels have central wi-fi facility and have libraries, recreation rooms etc.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

I took the JEE MAIN to get admission in the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology. My score was 66 and after calculating the qualifying exam normalized score, my total was 82.40.
My All India Rank was 179273.
I opted for the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology because it is the oldest state government technology college of Odisha and a very reputed one.
After collecting information about the college from seniors and alumni I happily applied for this college and got through.

Academics and Faculty

The faculty of the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology is well qualified. The subjects are properly assigned to the professors plus the laboratory classes are well assigned. The faculty seems very interested with the proper amount of knowledge to be given away with notes already prepared and uploaded in the official website of the college so that the students focus more on the explanation of the classes. The faculty is available for doubts during as well as after class hours.
The course I have opted for( B.tech in Information Technology) is divided into 8 semesters, per year 2 semesters. The course was duly approved by AICTE and offered by the University from the academic session 2003-2004 on self-financing basis. Presently, the course will run the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of this University. Every semester there are 5 theory paper examinations and 4 sessional examinations except for the 8th semester. In the 6th semester the subjects include one core elective paper, in 7th semester the subjects include the 2nd core elective and the 1st open elective paper with minor project submission, the last(8th) semester consists of 3 papers including the 2nd open elective and sessionals include the submission of major project, seminar, and grand viva.
The campus life is very lively with many active clubs and great participation.
The robotics club, SAE club, Dance club, art and photography club, audio visual club, music club, Entrepreneur cell, the satellite club, coding club, yoga club, National Cadet corps, the social service club and other clubs make a huge part of the college, where students dedicatedly for the clubs betterment.
They stand on a top in India and back various awards in national level competitions.

Fees and Scholarships

Since the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology is a government institution the fee structure is feasible.
The institution offers two types of courses for the b.tech program.

normal course Rs. 40500/anum
self-sustaining course Rs. 77500/anum

The self-sustaining course is not funded by the state government.
The college provides tuition fee waiver to students who's parents have low income on the basis of score in JEE main examination.
Loans facility is opted by many students suggesting the college is open to loan facility.
The class toppers are awarded scholarships and many other scholarships are provided by the institution.

Clubs and Associations

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology life is very lively with many active clubs and great participation.
The robotics club, SAE club, Dance club, art and photography club, audio visual club, music club, Entrepreneur cell, the satellite club, coding club, yoga club, National Cadet corps, the social service club and other clubs make a huge part of the college, where students dedicatedly for the clubs betterment.
They stand on top in India and back various awards in national level competitions.
One entire semester there are 3 fests held in the college and properly managed by students with help from faculty:-

Illumina-the sports fest
samavesh-the techn0-management fest
vassaunt-the spring (cultural) fest

The fests are well sponsored with numerous events and competitions attracting participation from not only the college but from other different colleges of Odisha and nearby states.
