  • A large number of reputed companies come to Manipal for placements. Toyota, Hero Motocorp, Maruti Suzuki and Mercedes-Benz have all come for placements.
  • The alumni network is very strong, with Satya Nadella and Rajiv Suri being the most notable alumni.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The eligibility criteria are to score 75% in 12th Board Exams to get admission in Manipal Institute of Technology.
  • One has to apply for the MU-OET entrance test, which is an online test. The test is graded out of 200 marks and a score of around 120 is enough to secure an admission to mechanical engineering.

Fees & Scholarships : Course fee per year varies every year and is branch specific. Scholarships are provided to top three rankers in every branch. Apart from college many other organisations provide scholarships to students.

Academics & Faculty : Every student has four hours of teaching in a day. The number of half days depend upon stream of engineering. Streams like Computer science and electronics have 3-4 half days while mechanical and automobile have 2-3 half days. Teaching involves mixture of power point presentations and black board teaching. Semester system is followed by the college. Each semester has two sessoinals each of 20 marks followed by end semester exam for 50 marks. Assignments are conducted for 10 marks. Labs have daily marking procedure which constitute to 60 marks followed by end semster exam of 40 marks. Students can also take up projects under professors in interested feilds after college timings.
